We did an English tour with Seekers Viaggi travel Agency which was very informative and delivered very well. Questions were answered as required. The walking tour was at 5pm which was a perfect time - pretty quiet and nice to walk as the sun was setting. Matera is unbelievable! The ancient area is unlike any other area I've seen in Italy. As many have said, no wonder there are movies made there; it reminds one of Jerusalem with its caves and stone outcroppings. There are churches and buildings coming right out of the rock!
