Good location, friendly staff, great breakfast. Lots of parking. Spacious rooms.
Our philosophy is to create a hotel which fulfills our idea of the perfect place to go and stay. This perfect place, whether restaurant or hotel, should be entirely in sympathy with its surroundings.

I liked that the place prepares you in the literature and description, for how run down it is. That way, you're not disappointed. It's a beautiful building in a stunning location. but it very tired and needs a small fortune spending on it. The room though was lovely and comfortable, and breakfast did the job.
6.2 miles from Loch Katrine in Aberfoyle, Altskeith Country House offers accommodations with access to a hot tub. This beachfront property offers access to free Wifi and free private parking.

They were so incredibly kind and welcoming. There were great little nooks to tuck away and read on the main floor. And the breakfast spread was one of the best I had while in Scotland. There were only two other parties there during my stay, giving it an even more intimate feel. It a great place to unplug and unwind, and I wish I could’ve stayed longer!
Located in Stirling, 7.5 miles from Lake of Menteith, Black Bull Gartmore has accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

Cooked breakfast at in-house cafe was good and filling, lots of veggie options. Family room was very spacious. Old hotel, a little tired but with character. Secondary glazing worked well to reduce traffic noise.

Lovely little village, nice local shops - go to The Station Cafe for breakfast (or anything you fancy) - loved the breakfast rolls and cake - lovely staff and gorgeous food! Would go back again just for the caramel slice :D

We all hated the visit at MacDonald Foresthill's Hotel Aberfeldy. After arriving late evening we checked out the following morning. Hated the Lodge (Spiders and cobweb on balcony and bedrooms), Hotel and resort require extensive upgrade. No internet in lodge, hotel and resort. Would not recommend this place to anyone I know.

We stayed in Aberfoyle at a campsite on the way and hotel on the way back. It was a pleasent village with a sheepdog show if you can catch it at the wool centre. I was disappointed that the wool centre didn't contain wool for crafting but wool products.
The post office was helpful and we had some nice cups of tea and great meal in the forth.
Easy to get around and a large central car park.

Aberfoyle was quite nice for a small village ,was not there long enough to give a good review. Would avoid the Rob Roy hotel if we ever returned, evening meal was a disgrace, the portion size was minute to say the least, the chef needs to rethink when sending out food for adults, we were given a 50 percent discount on the meal but would rather have had a decent meal, felt sorry for the waitresses who bore the brunt of complaint.

Beautiful location nice rooms spacious and facilities are ideal especially for families .... downside is the prices are rather steep at £11.50 for a large wine!
Kids loved the games and the swimming ... Rafters bar good value for kids meals
Three major assets: the ideal central location to visit the Trossachs, the wonderful owner and staff and the gorgeous food. Also very easy parking as it is next to the Visitors Centre and the public park car (if the hotel parking is full, it's easy to move over there). The Inn has an amazing historic feel, with extra bonus points for the "Baronnial" dining room. If it wasn't for electricity, we would have felt transported back in time for a medieval banquet. And did I say the food is excellent?
This property was right in the center of this quiet town. It was clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. Communication with the host was great. It was a wonderful place to spend the night while traveling through the area. There was a travel information center/shop right across the street. There were also a few paths to walk around in the area.
Location was great as travelling to a nearby wedding venue.
Rooms are fairly dated but rooms matched expectations, shower didn't have much power and was leaky.
If you book a balcony room, it is essentially a fire escape over the car park but handy if you are out past midnight as can access from a side door.
The breakfast the following date was great.
Staff were very friendly. Jackie checked me in, and was very welcoming. The shower in our designated twin room wasn't working, so I was notified on arrival that we had been moved to two double rooms for no extra charge. It is true that the hotel needs updating, but this is clearly a work in progress. Good shower and radiator.
Very spacious apartment. Right in the center of Aberfoyle which was perfect for my work. Plus a great spot to visit the fantastic local hills and outdoor spaces. The host was brilliant and offered help throughout. I am very much looking forward to staying here again soon.
An enormous motel- style property a mile from the centre of Aberfoyle. Large, comfortable en-suite rooms, good wifi, plenty of parking. Excellent buffet breakfast in the huge dining room. Extremely efficient and well run. Superb value for money. Highly recommended.
The location is stunning and we were lucky enough to have snow during our stay… just breathtakingly beautiful. The spa is a great addition for a destination hotel such as this. The staff are just wonderful although we noticed they were overstretched at times.
Excellent staff, lovely comfortable bed and a bath which was so nice after having showers for the rest of our stay in Scotland. Breakfast was delicious and I would certainly recommend staying here.
The views on the drive in and out of Aberfoyle were amazing.
The location, the facilities, and the Staff all complimented one another. Having a dog, the area was perfect for walks and all the staff made Lexi or dog very welcome. May be worth mentioning how friendly the locals were as well
It’s a lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the pool especially and the hearty breakfast. I left my kindle in the room and the kind receptionist, Rebecca, has promised to post it to me, which is much appreciated.
This was a beautiful country house hotel. Very homely and the hosts were very friendly and caring of our requests. The spectacular views through the glass wall dining room of Loch Ard and Ben Lomond were outstanding.
The location was amazing, by the side of a lake. It was a glorious day, and we could view the lake from the drawing room of the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. And good care to engage with the guests.
We booked this for our wedding night as we were having the wedding in aberfoyle! Can't fault it at all, the owners were so nice and accommodating, location is excellent and the views are second to none!
This was our third time here this year and that has been our average number if stays a year for many years, so that will give you a fair idea of what we think of the hotel 😀
