It's a great base from which to see the surrounding area - Beira Baixa and Serra da Estrela. The village itself has some interesting sights, but we thought there are more beautiful places to visit (like Sortelha). There was hardly any tourism.

The staff was wonderful. The restaurant was lovely, with very interesting menu choices, like partridge, and mushroom ice cream ( which was fabulous au natural, but didn’t like it when dressed with the sauces). Overall, the food was excellent, but also, a bit salty for me. The breakfast could have been better, some dark rolls, and eggs would be nice. The coffee machine coffee burned my stomach, but I didn’t realize it until the 4th day! I thought there was something wrong with me until I left and my stomach got better. We particularly enjoyed visiting the Jewish museum and Synagogue. We found the accommodation ideal as we were able to leave our dog there whilst we visited the museums. We enjoyed dinner in the local restaurant a few minutes away from the property.RoselyneUnited Kingdom
