We enjoyed the whimsiness of our hotel. A giant Godzilla poking his head out of the building. When you take the elevator up to the 8th floor where the main lobby is located, you can see the giant Godzilla head from there. That is also where the lounge is located. I also really enjoyed the “shower room” as this was my very first time in Japan. In our hotel room we had one room with a door for just the bathtub, and one room with another door for just the bidet. What I figured out later is that if you shut the door of the room with the bathtub, the whole room is a shower! Thought that was great! Also enjoyed the air-conditioning, and discovered how amazing the 7-11’s in Japan are (as there is one downstairs and where we found our morning coffee/breakfast.)

Very luxurious hotel that feels elegant and has a great location with direct access to Shimbashi Station. The room offered an amazing view of Tokyo Tower and has a cosy niche by the window to really enjoy the view. The hotel situated near many shopping places and tourist attractions. There are many local restaurants on that street. Love the easy check in and check out process. The room is small but has everything I need for a quick trip. The hotel is about 15 minute walk from the busy Shinjuku Station but if you have many bags it can be a challenging walk.

I love the location of this hotel. It is easy to access quickly from the airport. It is directly over the train station, making walking to and from the hotel fast. The train lines let me transfer to different points in the city easily. It was not expensive to taxi/Uber back to the hotel after the trains stopped running. The room was quite, clean, and comfortable with a great view of the city. I was able to enjoy the onsen and rooftop view patio. I went to visit Sengakuji because it was right around the corner. That is a really nice, must-see site.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Tokyo was a lot of fun and there's plenty to do, though it depends what you're into. I enjoy the process of travelling and finding new things, especially natural places to walk through (that includes nice gardens) and there's plenty of that but the big crowds and the immense urban sprawl can be wearing after a while. For me, three days in Tokyo came at the end of a two week trip where I started in Hokkaido and worked my way south and that worked out well. Lots of people going to Japan for the first time may use Tokyo as a base and go out/come back in each day and this can work well, but be prepared for big crowds at most places you would like to go. Those with social anxiety or travelling with young children may have a tougher time. Having said that, getting around isn't difficult and you can set your watch to the trains, they're that reliable. Finding places to eat is easy and it's excellent for shopping and sightseeing.

We spent 6 nights in total in Tokyo, 3 at the start and 3 at the end of a 3 week trip. Knowing now what the rest of Japan is like, would probably have spent more time in Kyoto and Hiroshima and less in Tokyo and Osaka.

Tokyo was a great city to visit. Lots of history and modern attractions for all members of a family. The temples and shrines were great to visit as well as the markets and then Shibuya, Asakusa for shopping. The museums and Team Labs Borderless were a great cultural addition to our trip.

You can never go wrong with a trip to Tokyo!

You can never go wrong with a trip to Tokyo! There are plenty of city activities to do frm visiting temples, gardens, onsens, just wandering the city. And, when the city isn't enough, you an take a tour from Tokyo central to everest or a wine tour if you like. The train system is very detailed and makes it easy to get around. I would recommend using the japan rail app, to plot your trip route as there are many express trains! :)

Travelled with a group of 12 (kids and grandkids). Tokyo is an expensive place to travel to, but we had a great holiday. Hotel rooms very small unless you pay for high end hotels. Everything else was great. very safe and easy to travel around. Kids loved everything Japanese. Visited Disneyland and Disney Sea. Disney Sea was awesome. Would love to go back there.

Smooth check-in with advance notice of all info needed for arrival and check in, easy to find the location and no hassle to check in with access code. New facility and kept very clean. And I like the decoration in particular, home feel, and the hotel operator is very responsive, answering all my queries timely. Very helpful. Hotel is only 4m walk to the nearest station and easy commute to Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc. Will come back for sure for my next trip to Tokyo.

Location is very good! You have access to two nearby lines, JR chuo-sobu, and the Oedo subway. JR chuo-sobu easily connects to Akihabara and Shinjuku . For the hotel itself the spa was good and spacious. During the stay, even at 6am there were already a few people (5++) in the spa. There is also a Lawson's convenient store with a good selection food and snacks, and also hot snacks (friend chicken) located inside the hotel on level 2.
