FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol features Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the Avon River. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbor, where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I registered historic Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St. Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centers at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artist Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodations, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath rail line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

A very characterful and vibrant city, albeit confusing to motorists due to poor decisions by the Council on road layouts. Best to take the park and ride which we would have done had the Council allowed you to leave your car overnight.

There was a bus stop just outside the flat which made travelling without a car much easier. Buses were frequent.Shops, cafes and other facilities were a bus ride away or in walking distance. There were several parks nearby to keep a small child entertained. Our reason for being in Bristol was for a family occasion so we didn’t access the attractions of Bristol on this occasion. Being familiar with the city we know it’s a good place for a city break.

Fascinating place, with a unique culture, social and art vibe. A vibrant city, with lots to explore and several day trips not far away - including Bath for the history and beauty, the bike rail trail between Bath and Bristol and Cheddar Gorge for outdoor recreation. The Blackbeard to Banksy walking tour in Bristol was also excellent, with a great balance of contemporary and historical information and sights. Highly recommend and trip to this region.

Bristol is an awesome and vibrant town.

Bristol is an awesome and vibrant town. Quiet in the morning, it wakes up and lights up as the day passes. The harbour is a great place to reax and have something to eat or drink. Many possibilities to spend a nice night out. It is well connected through public transport, including connections to and from the airport.

Bristol is an excellent city that is eclectic so has so many diverse elements spread throughout the centre of the city. I would suggest utilising some of the different travel options such as the scooters and bikes so that you can avoid the traffic but also take in the beautiful developments.

Bristol is a lovely city to visit, lots of culture, architectural buildings, lovely old parts of the city and very compact. Public transport is excellent and the location I stayed was ideal for the coach station for my return to the airport and costs only 9 pounds single. Great places to eat, just seek out the small restaurants and the people are friendly, lots of activities, I done Stonehenge, abit expensive perhaps for students but great value overall. I will be returning as I enjoyed my trip so much and did not get to do everything on my list.

The staff was very friendly! Even though they couldn't give us two rooms on request next to each other, (I wasn't really bothered about it)they have upgraded the rooms for the best ones in the new pavilion free of charge. The comfort of the room is amazing. We stayed only one night but it was really enjoyable. The hotel is about 20/25 min away from the city centre that's the only downside , but we chose to stay there and it didn't disappoint.

I have stayed in some pretty swanky hotels around the world but this was just as comfortable as any of them. The staff are super pleasant and when I realised I’d forgotten my toothbrush the gave me one. The position is very convenient for driving and I was able to park at the back which made arriving and leaving easy as I didn’t need to drive through the city centre streets to get in and out of Bristol.

For the cost of the room, I was pleasantly surprised at all aspects of this lovely hotel. The greeting when checking in was friendly and welcoming, the room was perfect for a short stay in Bristol and the location ideal for the harbourside and city centre (if you don't mind a short uphill walk up Park Street).

Location - walking distance to Bristol city centre and Clifton, or frequent buses nearby. Great staff, helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Racks, the hotel's bar and restaurant (a few minutes walk up the road) did a very good Sunday lunch. Shower, while not a power one, was better than expected.
