I enjoyed the traditional “authentic” room for a modern and upscale monastic vibe. The location is fantastic, and I appreciated the in/out privileges with the paid parking. This place has a wellness theme that really comes through to make it a unique experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The old city of Quebec, surrounded by a sick wall, is an experience not to be missed. The last remaining walled city in North America, with its narrow cobblestone streets, centuries old buildings, French restaurants and cafés, Old Quebec feels like a different world and a different century. We never tire a visiting, even after dozens and dozens of visits over the years.

Visited attractions that I missed on earlier visits. Visit to the Ice cream and chocolatier is a must, on the island. Montmorency falls and St. Anne of Beaupre Cathedral was good. The Cathedral's interior architecture was amazing and mesmerizing.

    I loved the Old City!

I loved the Old City! So many cute shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops to explore. The views were superb. We took a walking tour of the Old City to get some historical background. There is a lovely hike through the trees that we incorporated into a visit to the Plains of Abraham and the Citadel. The service workers in stores, bars and restaurants were extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an excellent restaurant dinner as well as some lovely coffee shop brunches and drinks in a couple of great pubs. Be aware that some restaurants are closed on Mondays.

The staff upon arrival were very friendly and the room was a good size with a comfy bed. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotels restaurant which was lovely. The hotel is located in a very beautiful area of the lower town with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. To get to the old town you can either take the bus (the hotel is part of a programme that gives it's guests free bus travel for 3 days so worth asking at reception for some tickets), or if you prefer you can walk to the funicular and either take that up or walk up the stairs.

The location is excellent, right in the center of the old town, a short walk from the chateau. There is a parking lot nearby (24$/day). Communication with the staff was prompt and kind. We were able to check in a few hours earlier than planned without any problems. Everything was very clean. The bedding was nice and comfortable. No luxuries, but an excellent place to rest after sightseeing in Quebec City.
