We stayed there two times. The second time, we were in a room on the back side of the hotel. It was nice & quiet. My ratings would have been higher if we had stayed on the back side on both stays. In addition, we found the staff very nice & helpful.

Colourful and historic, modern and colonial, local and touristic, Cartagena de Indias represents one of the liveliest Colombian beach resorts. Its character mixes cultures and peoples, including natives, Spanish, African and Arab. Its rich legacy granted its Old Town the recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When the Spanish founded the city in 1533, the region had already been inhabited for thousands of years. It became an important port for the Spanish gold and a significant political centre. Echoes of those times can be seen throughout the historic centre, in the city walls, the San Felipe de Barajas Castle, and the colourful streets and colonial squares. Some of the best hotels in Cartagena de Indias can be found here.
Proudly Caribbean, Cartagena’s soul gives the rhythm to the streets, and the music coming out of cafés and restaurants is nothing but a physical manifestation of its collective spirit. Follow the beat, get to the seaside, and have one of your best holidays. Hotels near Cartagena de Indias’ beaches will be the perfect stage.

Cartegena has so much culture and history. The food was fantastic! There is live music in every restaurant and bar. Traditional dancing can be found in the squares and you just need to tip. Just be aware of all the street hustlers, especially the rappers who will follow you. The old town comes alive after 8pm. Be prepared for the 90-100% humidity during the mid-day. It is best to site see early in the morning or evening and siesta or pool lounge during the mid day.

The "Old City" is beautiful and historic - and has excellent gelato! Unfortunately, no Dr Pepper...
The beaches are good, and provide a diversion (or a primary reason to go, if you are young) and a completely different atmosphere.

Lots to do if you work with local tourist agents.
Lots to do if you work with local tourist agents. Leave the area and go to Baru for glowing plankton or boats to Rosario archipelago. Old town. Watch out for street vendors selling trinkets and being too pushy.

A lot of great food options, best seafood in Colombia.
A lot of great food options, best seafood in Colombia.
Our favorites:
- La Cevicheria
- La Mulata
- Cafe del Mar ( bit pricey for what it is, but worth it for the sunset drinks )
- El baron ( great tapas in the middle of the square )
Town with a rich history and lots of important landmarks and sights to visit. Great colonial architecture, colorful streets and lively people.
It is very touristic, with a lot of locals non stop trying to sell/push tours/restaurants and goods on the street, felt a bit like India sometimes. There are great street performances of dance groups and artists happening, which i enjoyed a lot though!

Great place to visit as long as you don't mind being harrassed non stop by street vendors trying to sell you hats, cigars, sunscreen, tchotchkes and other things, having menus constantly thrown in your face or being honked at by multiple cab drivers if you stop on a sidewalk for even a second wanting to know if you need a ride. Everything worth seeing in Cartagena can be seen in one day, two tops if you want to see some places out side the city

The host was very informative about everything which I really liked, the hotel was really nice and clean, same as our room, the views were spectacular from our room. Security was on top of everything making sure we were good with everything. We walked to the historic city which was about 15-20 min walk from the hotel which wasnt bad at all. Even though theres a shopping mall right next door with theres also a convenient store exactly 1 block behind the hotel, which was really good to know. I highly recommend this place if you visit Cartagena.
Excellent location near the main square and Torre. Other visitors to Cartagena Old Town complain about noise at night. This hotel is in the middle of the action but our room was very very quiet. The room was large and clean. The hotel is small and full of Colombian charm. The breakfast is very good. Staff were always pleasant an attentive. All the front desk staff spoke English. We had a problem with our safety deposit box and they fixed it promptly. Plunge pool is small but extremely enjoyable given the hot weather.
Beautiful boutique hotel in Getsemani and only a short walk from the old city. Getsemani is an absolute must visit - we almost enjoyed it more than the old city! The hotel had a lovely rooftop pool and bar and the rooms were fantastic.
The staff were all incredible - particularly Jhonatan on the front desk who went above and beyond to help us, with nothing being too much trouble. He helped us with local recommendations and organising trips to the islands - we can’t thank him enough for making our stay so special!
The place is situated really near the plaza of Getsemani where it's close to everything. There's a kitchen that u can use and the place is spotless clean, Maria is such a very wonderful host and Elly ( the one who makes the breakfast, not sure if that's her name) is so wonderful. They are so friendly and they make the breakfast more lively. they change the breakfast daily and we enjoyed the traditional colombian breakfast. Rooms are really well decorated and the place is cozy and homey.
Beautiful 'boutique' hotel. This hotel was a very authentic experience in Cartagena. I loved the architecture of the hotel, it was so beautiful. Overall, it was very comfortable and my favorite part was the breakfast. It's not a buffet liek most hotels, breakfast here is a home cooked Colombian breakfast by the staff - my favorite breakfast experience I've had at a hotel so far. This place feels more like a 'bed and breakfast' than a hotel.
Our room had a really good view of the sea and the pool. The breakfast was very good and had variety. I arrived with an inflamed sciatic nerve and the personnel at the buffet volunteered and provided assistance immediately. Great fresh fruit and Colombian coffee . The location made it possible to get to town, to the airport quickly and cheaply on Uber. So we enjoyed the beach right outside the hotel and sightseeing with hop-on hop-off buses.
The hotel has a unique atmosphere. An old colonial building was transformed into a boutique hotel, and some of the items, like the furniture or the bathtub kept the old design. The staff is very attentive, our room was spacious and comfortable. The pool at the top of the hotel is really useful in the humid heat of Cartagena. It was never crowded while we stayed there. The hotel is in the middle of the old town.
Such a brilliant hotel in the middle of old Cartagena. I enjoyed my week stay a lot. Very quiet yet close to the action, i loved the small pool and very kind staff. Looking forward to come back. I have been in Cartagena many times ( i am Colombian), and this is one of the best small hotels in Centro; its not cheap, but not terribly expensive compared with other similar ones. Thanks. a lot.
Celebrity treatment! world-class service. The staff was amazing it made us feel like home. Very spacious suite and detailed oriented interior decor. Walking distance of all the areas in the vibrant old city. From location to facility to welcoming staff with big smiles in their faces whenever they see you! Its a hidden gem, which is the best boutique hotel from Cartagena no doubt.
I live outside of Cartagena and I always come to town for meetings and errands, this has been one of my favorite finds in Getsemaní, the staff was great, the breakfast included was really fast and edible in comparison with what I've gotten at other hotels and hostels in the area. The value for the price is unbeatable
The room was really lovely, staff was supportive, the little pool on the roof was refreshing, the location was just perfect, simple, but tasty breakfast, very quite place in a busy street, super comfortable beds, fresh water available, the green program. I give 10, as this was the nicest hotel in Colombia we had.
Excellent customer service from day 1 to day 7. The rooms are excellent and the front desk was very attentive of our requests throughout the stay. Greta breakfast and the hotel is one block from the beautiful beach of Cartagena. Price was really good for the location and amenities of this hotel. Lo recomiendo.
This hotel is located right next to Plaza Fernandez de Madrid which is buzzing with energy any time of the day. The staff were super friendly and my room was nice and spacious. The lady who served breakfast was very sweet!
The location, within Getsemani, is excellent - close to the activity fo Getsemani and a pleasant walk to the old city and the waterside activities. The hotel has an old world charm and pleasant reception staff.
Lovely little boutique hotel. Nice modest pool to cool down in. Breakfast was really nice and hearty. Immaculately clean. Bed was super comfy. Friendly staff. That we were in Getsemeni but in the quietest part.
My Go-to while visiting Bocagrande-Cartagena De Indias. Great staff, superb location, excellent breakfast in the morning. Safe location and super safe hotel! The POOL! Love!!!
Kathleen was wonderful at the reception. Loved the bird book in the lobby. Room was very comfortable and the location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the old city.
