This was not my first visit to Madrid, and there is always lots to see, especially in terms of art. For me the art galleries are outstanding, obviously the Prado, but also the Thyssen which I probably prefer. One other good thing about Madrid is that there are other wonderful cities just a short distance away that are worth visiting such as Toledo and Segovia which are just a day trip away. This time we took a longer trip to Salamanca which was excellent and did that as three days away from Madrid in the middle of our trip. So it's well worth planning to see the sights of Madrid and also making time to visit one or two other places.

Thoroughly enjoyed Madrid, so easy to get around and although super busy at all times, we didn't feel unsafe at all. Lots of nice shops, restaurants and metro was brilliant with plenty of staff on hand to help with ticket machines. A visit to the Mercado San Miguel is a must. Would highly recommend Madrid for a city break.

We went specifically to visit the Prado and two paintings in particular (The Meninas by Velazquez and The Garden of Earthly Delights by Bosch). We found so much more. The Prado is enormous (I walked six miles in four hours) and awesome. We loved the Thyssen Gallery too. We took the open-topped tourist bus around the city and walked the narrow streets and squares around the imposing Plaza Mayor. Found several bars and restaurants for delicious al fresco (in late October) treats. I would have liked to visit the Royal Palace and its fabulous gardens but didn’t have time in our three day trip. Also the upmarket shopping in the Salamanca district looked enticing from the top of the bus…

We loved seeing the Royal Palace.
We loved seeing the Royal Palace. Words can't describe how beautiful it is and everything is still there and in perfect condition. Buy tickets on line to miss the crowd and pay the 2 Euro for the self-guided auto tour. We also visited the San Francisco basilica which was amazing as well. Harder to get into as it is only open for a few hours each day - usually 8am-10:30am. Most beautiful interior structure of any church I have seen except for St. Peter's in Vatican City. Also visited the museum of San Isidro which had ancient artifacts and remains of prehistoric mammals and early man. Very interesting!
Would not drive in Madrid as there is too much traffic and so many narrow one-way streets. We either walked or took Ubers. The Grand Via is a great street to stroll down for shopping and eating. More stores than you can imagine and many from the U.S.
We ate at the El Pimiento Verde on the Grand Via and our meals were delicious and the wine was fantastic. Service was very good but we found that many restaurant staff don't speak English very well which surprised us. The artichoke flower app was really tasty.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Clean, beautiful, amazing facilities. Location is good, is in the financial center, close to airport and city center. We arrived in terminal 1, we took bus 200 to get to the hotel. Public transport in Madrid by default costs 1.5 EUR(and you can pay cash inside the bus). In order to get to the center we got the bus 53 infront of Cuco’s restaurant which is super close to the hotel and it was super easy to travel around. Highly recommended. Loved it?
Best location in Madrid. However, the hotel is beginning to feel a little 'tired'. Friends stayed in a cheaper city centre hotel that was cheaper and had a roof-top bar and swimming pool! If you want an authentic Spanish experience in the heart of old Madrid then stay here. For comfort and value for money look elsewhere.
Very nice hotel in perfect location. Near airport and public transportation.
10€ with Uber from airport to hotel.
Also 10€ to the center of Madrid.
We walk Al along street till center, it's perfect street with lots of shops and people around.
Place is safe.
Hotel is very modern, clean, very well kept. Location is very convenient, situated between airport and main city centre - also walking distance to at least 4 different metro stations - which makes it perfect for visiting Madrid.
The staff are very friendly and professional. The location of the hotel is ideal.r
Right beside the Royal Palace and the city centre.overall a very good experience. When I do visit Madrid again I will definitely will stay there.
