Painswick is a very picturesque village with enough facilities for a short stay. There are limited places to eat but all were worth a visit. A very peaceful Cotswolds village, Falcon Inn was a great place to eat, went there twice. A good place to start a Cotswolds Way walk. I only stayed for a hiking weekend with friends but could have definitely stayed longer - lots of things to see and do within an easy each (one does need a car though).

We ate at the Edgemoor Inn at Edge. The food was a good price and excellent with a varied range of food choices. Another time I would love to see the 200 Yew trees in the church yard, and the famous Rococco gardens.

Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location.
Enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. We ate in the only three pubs/restaurants - St Michaels Bistro, The Falcon and The Oak and enjoyed the drinks and meals in all - all quite different. Village itself can be walked round very quickly - don't expect any shops to visit but lots of nice walks on offer.

The local food and drink was amazing (The Painswick and the Oak get honourable mention!) We served a birthday dinner at the house one night and the kitchen is well kitted out and stocked with all the cooking supplies we needed; perfect to serve the show stopping banquet table! Bedrooms are large and well equipped and the view from upstairs can’t be beat. We will definitely be back. 10/10SophieUnited Kingdom

There was a fresh loaf, organic butter and fresh eggs in a basket, and some organic milk in the fridge. The garden was really lovely. There was a barbecue too, which we did use. Painswick is a very pretty village and the cottage is situated across from the church and it’s famous 99 Yew trees. Little shop and a very nice pub within a few yards too. Perfect.LisaUnited Kingdom

The hut was very comfortable, the bed was comfy and the duvet was so warm, when we put the fire on it kept the hut warm for a long time. We ate at the Woolpack pub and did the circular walk through Painswick which was a great long walk to fill the day, very much enjoyed coming back to the cosy hut after and sitting outside with a cup of tea!KelseyUnited Kingdom

Having breakfast and looking at the garden in the morning was a particular favourite of mine. It was extremely clean and the hosts (Peter and Judy) were so lovely! Painswick itself is beautiful but definitely need a car as not a lot to do in the area. We took our 6 month cockapoo which the lodge was perfect for. Everything was beautiful, incredible views on both sides of the cottage....fantastic location in the Cotswolds. Extremely charming and cozy. We always had parking very close to or directly in front of the entrance. Great experience! Highly recommend!

Everything was immaculate and spotless and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery etc, extra bedding etc. It was brilliant to have parking, which is unusual in the centre of Painswick and it was really convenient to have independent access.
