Ken was very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and the bathroom tiny but well appointed. Unfortunately the kitchen was being refurbished while we were staying so I have no comment on the food. You could purchase a pint and pizza for £10.
Featuring a garden, Balcarres, Rodborough Avenue features accommodations in Stroud. Both free Wifi and parking on-site are accessible at the bed and breakfast free of charge.

Lovely big old property & huge garden space with a hot tub, although I think an additional charge of £30 is a little steep which put us off using it, if it had been nite reasonable then we’d definitely have used it! Nice homemade granola & sourdough toast & marmalade for breakfast.

Stroud is quite a big town in Gloucestershire and, as such, it has all of the shops and amenities one would expect. Plus, with a taxi rank, train station and frequent bus services to/from Cheltenham and Gloucester, among other places, the town is well connected. I would recommend it as a base from which to explore Gloucestershire.

Vibrant, friendly and historic town full of stylish places to eat and drink, unique gift shops surrounded by beautiful countryside. Local bus service was also very reliable on the Saturday ( well - better than my own at home anyway!). Public toilets in the town were clean and convenient.
I was on my own but felt safe even at nighttime.
Would recommend the indoor market, Stroud Bookshops, as well as Cornflower and Calico for kitchenware gifts. The Coffee House and Curio Lounge Cafe Bar were great places to visit as well.

Amberley Inn was in a village outside Stroud, the area was very picturesque and plenty to do in the area. The Aboretum at Batsford was exceptional with lovely autumn colour and the Cotswold Villages are a delight.

Well connected by the train and buses with a labyrinth of country lanes and greenery for car travellers.

This is a lovely place to visit mainly because of the friendliness of the locals. Everyone I met was helpful and clearly very proud of their town. Loads of independent cafes and coffee houses in the town centre. For a special treat, The Corner House is a great place for a lunch or evening meal.
Note that this town sits in a valley surrounded by a number of picturesque but steep hills, so if you are walking out and about, be ready for a climb. Terrific scenery though, so worth it. I was particularly impressed by the number of independent shops of all kinds, especially those selling local artisans' wares. A great centre for all kinds of crafts.
Lovely clean apartment, easy check in loved the layout had everything inside we needed loved the upstairs bedrooms very warm we went to the downstairs pub and had a meal staff were really friendly and helpful with anything needed with our apartment loved all the cute dogs just chilling in there very pet friendly and plenty of parking spaces also a direct bus route no 40 from Stroud town centre drops you right outside, great atmosphere would definitely like to stay again if we are in that area again
Cosy cottage, located in the centre of Painswick. Perfect for relaxing indoors and for getting out and about exploring the village and surrounding areas.
A well equipped kitchen included complimentary bread, butter and eggs which was a nice touch.
Bedrooms very comfy and a good size.
Large bathroom with bath and separate
shower.
Overall..it's clean and nicely presented while being easy to make yourself at home and not feel like guests.
The room we stayed in was really beautiful and spacious. There was plenty of storage space and it even had a chaise lounge to relax on. The bed was large and very comfortable. The food at The Falcon is excellent and we can recommend the pies which were really tasty. The breakfast is great too with plenty of choice cooked well. We really liked Painswick it is a really pretty village with lovely walks around it.
Well-situated in a heritage area, close to the town centre, public transport and other local services. Comfortable, warm flat with quiet neighbours, good facilities and pleasing views to the hills and Severn Vale. Particularly liked the canal-themed photos on the walls. Provided a welcoming 'second home' during my stay.
We liked the location and having the cottage to ourselves with a kitchen. We appreciated all the thoughtful touches, such as milk, fresh eggs and some grocery items. There was also information on things to do in the area. The grounds were lovely with beautiful flower gardens. Some members of the family enjoyed the hot tub.
Very friendly staff, great location and room. We had a super king bed which was very comfortable, a large shower & bathroom and good facilities too. The breakfast was fantastic and they even added an extra sausage on for our dog who was very thankful. Highly recommend for a nice & central hotel in Painswick.
Location was 5 minutes walk to town center, apartment was very clean, kitchen had everything we needed, bed was very comfortable. Any questions i had for the owner were answered very quickly. We would stay here again if ever back in Stroud and we have problem recommending it anyone visiting the area.
Lots of lovely character and in a great location. It was handy for walking to Stroud and to the local supermarket. The canal walk is great. The furnishings gave a very cozy feel. It was ideal for two of us. The breakfast cereals and milk provided are a lovely touch.
I went there for playing golf in Minchinhampton Golf Club. The location is perfect, not only for the golf but also for exploring the Cotswold Area. The bed is comfortable. I enjoy staying with the family of Emily, which made me feel at home.
The accommodation provides everything you need for a getaway. The views from the accommodation is exceptional, the location is great for exploring the area and shops and restaurants not far away in Stroud.
Beautiful quiet setting just outside Painswick. Lovely hosts. Perfect for a couple. We already recommended to a friend looking for additional space for visiting family and friends.
