When we booked, we asked for a ground floor room as we knew there was no elevator/lift. Initially our room was upstairs but I explained my partner couldn't do the stairs so they looked and found another room. Sadly, the toilet seat was broken or not attached and we explained the problem. So, they moved us to another room on ground floor. Thankfully, they moved our belongings to the new room which was great since we had made plans to meet someone elsewhere and we didn't want to be late. The breakfast was great and we had snacks for dinner even though they did have a restaurant but we were full from our late lunch with friends. We had a lovely stay. Our usual hotel in Sandbach was completely full so we opted for the Bear's Head since they had vacancy.

From the moment we arrived the staff were wonderful, pleasant, very attentive and exceptionally informative. They made us feel like their only guest and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Magdelena for the most inviting welcome I’ve ever had at an hotel. Absolutely outstanding. I had booked a room in the modern section but was offered an upgrade to inside the hall at a discounted rate which I gladly accepted because not only did it have character, it featured a large bath. We were encouraged to explore all the rooms inside the hall such as the Great Library and Long Gallery etc. It was nice to have the freedom to roam around at will, discover the history and sit where royalty once sat looking at the gardens view. The gardens were of course much different in their day but the experience of taking a moment in their seat was most enjoyable. Our room was quite lovely complete with the most amazing wardrobe in which we found bathrobes, hairdryer, iron and ironing board available. Everything was spotlessly clean. Thank you Natalia for taking care of our room so well. Your attention to detail does not go unnoticed. I can’t say enough good things about all the staff you encounter whether you’re just wandering around or enjoying drinks in the Sheridan Bar for instance. Thank you to Melissa & Tom both in the Sheridan Bar both of whom went above and beyond to meet our needs. We enjoyed afternoon tea out on the terrace thanks to a most accommodating chef and staff willing to carry our food and drinks beyond the scope of just their bar. I also availed myself of the Hall’s Spa service whilst there. Again, just lovely and accommodating staff and again nothing too much trouble. Due to a cancellation I again got an upgrade. The whole experience was just lovely so a big thanks to the nice reception staff and my lovely spa technician, Emma. Her years of experience are evident. A most relaxing experience.

Old market town with no signs of decaying and local businesses appear to be thriving. Had a lovely meal in the Wheatsheaf Inn very reasonably priced. Sandbach is very close to Stoke on Trent and an ideal base to explore the Potteries area.

Nice town, with good places for shopping, cafes and pubs.

Nice town, with good places for shopping, cafes and pubs. Plenty of nice places to visit. House cafe makes good Coffee, as does the black cat cafe. Old Hall Hotel and the Wheatsheaf, ( which is just across the street), for fine dining. The George is a very busy pub. Terrific value for money. The Market Tavern and the Lower Chequer also very good pubs. All of them are only a few minutes away.

The View is in a very central location of Sandbach, easy access to everywhere. The town is well kept, pretty, with some oldie worldly buildings and cobbles in main street and square. Flower boxes everywhere. Plenty of character in the heart of Sandbach.

We have stayed at Bears Head a few times and overall it has been a pleasant stay and the breakfast was very good. The walkways are grimy and the rooms need some TLC, They were to be refurbished. Delayed for various reasons but now planned for September 2023. However this stay 23 August 23, the cleanliness was rock bottom with the pillows ( no pillow protectors) just yellow stains all over the pillows and they smelt horrible and the two chairs hadn't been cleaned in years

The property is located in a relatively quiet road and backs on to the Trent and Mersey Canal. We enjoyed using the patio in the evenings. The cottage is only a few minutes' drive from Sandbach town centre and the M6. It was clean and well presented with a good sized bedroom and a comfortable bed.
