This is a charming hotel on top of a hill, just around the corner from the main attraction street of Rye. The hotel is cosy, staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The room is really nice, bed is comfortable, the view is fantastic. Breakfast is excellent. It is quiet and still located within three minutes walk from the main street. I would love to stay there again!

This was a special booking for my partner's 50th birthday, and we had a really lovely day. We had a beautiful room (number 8) in the very top of the hotel. It was perfect for us (my partner and 9 year old son, who slept on the sofa) and was very comfortable and quiet. It looked over the marshes to the sea. The breakfast was really excellent, served in a beautiful panelled room with table service. It was something you could really enjoy and a great way to start the day.

Very picturesque building. Lovely cozy bar and restaurant. Private parking for the classic car. Basic room in the annex to the main building. Very good breakfast. We arrived an hour prior to check-in time, but the entrance to the lobby was left open, with a phone number. This allowed us to shelter from the rain without having to put the hood on our car! Very thoughtful and convenient.

Rye has the harbour nature reserve (a walkers paradise!). We loved the cycle ride we had there -.a round trip of 10 miles that included Camber Castle (not that accessible by bike be warned!). We also cycled to Camber Sands but the beach was not to our likely as it was heaving with holiday makes from nearby caravan sites and the beach area was quite untidy. Nice off road cycle though. Rye itself is quaint, quirky but be warned it has steep hills in the centre not suited to the infirm. Lots of old fahioned shops and steeped in history. A view form the church tower a must.

Rye is a beautiful historic town with Camber Sands beach and the Nature Reserve close by. Parking is an issue, expensive in the town and at camber sands. However, parking at the nature reserve is on a donation basis and the privately owned car park in Rye town by the train station is great value for money and the ticket machines take cash!!! The council have put in led light bulbs in the historic old street lamps around Rye town which sadly gives off harsh piercing light at night that is not in keeping the area.

Pretty town with interesting buildings and people. The countryside is quintesentially English We had great fish and chips from the chippy in Rye and drank and had bar snack in a very dog friendly pub called The Standard. Travelling by car is very easy given the two car parks. However, I imagine it must be difficult to park at weekends and the height of the holiday season. Camber Sands is not far away which has a couple of dog friendly beaches.

Traditional English breakfast at its best. Parking at the hotel possible for unloading, free between 6pm and 9am. Car park within walking distance next to the Old Mill. Good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops. Rich history of the Cinque Ports, Rye and Winchelsea, which can be largely discovered on foot, by bus and by train. Very relaxing place.

The room was small but ok for the one night we had booked, bed very comfortable and bathroom satisfactory. Nice addition to have a happy hour in the bar…..two large Malbec for £9, bargain! Breakfast was good…although the coffee not so great. Overall, happy with the amount paid for a stay in Rye compared to other hotels
