Sarum College, hotel in Salisbury

Located a few steps from Salisbury Cathedral, Sarum College offers 2-star accommodations in Salisbury and has a garden.

Location was perfect. Breakfast was excellent though the breakfast room may not have been easily accessible for people with mobility issues. The rooms were basic and the toilet and shower were also basic but they had everything that I needed. There were no hair dryers or irons but I did not need any. There was a kettle and tea/coffee in the room. The place was clean. It was good value for money.

The Kings Head Inn Wetherspoon, hotel in Salisbury

Set in Salisbury, 1312 feet from Salisbury Cathedral, The Kings Head Inn features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property.

Breakfast was served downstairs and was prompt. Able to choose whether we wanted to purchase breakfast there or go elsewhere but convenient to eat in. Also, affordable price for breakfast and coffee. Convenient for ordering something to eat in the evening to take to our room. Location of the building is good and the building is unique although there was scaffolding up outside. Bar staff were helpful and friendly.

Everthing is within walking distance shops, cathedral etc and there are plenty of places to eat. Furthermore, as this is an old medieval town there are lots of pubs ! so plenty of choice of breweries and food ! Its also based on a grid system so very easy to navigate your way around. We did find that the independant shops, market etc are NOT open on Sundays so if you are coming for shopping make sure you come Monday to Saturday or you will be disappointed ! Our host said when the sun shines Salisbury is the best place to be and with a choice of over 5 rivers you could walk along bathed in sunshine I would agree !

Beautiful city. Amazing old streets and buildings. Small enough to explore on foot. Plenty of places to enjoy food and drink. The Cathedral is stunning. Plenty of independent shops. Nice green open spaces. Lovely for a couple of days.

Go to city visitor center, very helpful. Pretty town, every place walkable. Visit Stonehenge in afternoon, lot less people. Old Sarum was hard to get to and not marked well from bus stop. Magna Carta might not be worth the fee to many.

A small town with lots of pretty old buildings, beside the river. There are some famous sites including the cathedral which I enjoyed visiting. Unfortunately a few things are closed Tuesday and/or Wednesday, so check webistes when planning your trip. It's also 20 minutes from Stonehenge.

Parts of the city are rather grim, other parts are wonderfully historic and worth seeing; the Saturday market is excellent. We didnt go into the Cathedral as we considered the ticket price excessive but we ate very good food in Baroushka in Fisherton Road and the daytime cafe opposite. There is an amazing fishmonger in Fish Row and a good baker adjacent. Walking through the city was difficult as there seem to be endless road/pavement works and hordes of tourists heading for their lessons in history. We came by train as parking would appear to be scarce but there is a good Park and Ride. We were blessed with the cottage, it made up for our disappointment with Salisbury itself.

Love this area, brings memories of childhood as I was born in an area called Salisbury. It has a lovely market to buy goods from, stores, and lots of food options where a Mediterranean breakfast can be experienced. Not to mention Stonehenge... info attainable for Magna Carta resides in this area. Rooms experienced at places stayed great for short term but I like big open spaces with rooms, nothing against the hosts! Many options offer included breakfasts elsewhere.

The hotel is in a great location to visit the cathedral and city centre shops and restaurants. Nice room, warm and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.. Breakfast was really good, lots of choice and hot food cooked to order. It was Saturday night and they had a band playing in the evening but the music stopped promptly at 11pm.. I was travelling on my own and felt comfortable in the bar, which has a good range of drinks on offer. I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Excellent buffet breakfast choice. Spacious and relaxing grounds with lovely open view towards Salisbury cathedral. Complimentary drink coupon upon arrival was a nice touch. Convenient quiet location with a choice of 2 different pleasant routes to walk into the town centre. Alternatively there is a half hourly local public bus service to town whilst the hotel provides a free shuttle service in the evening.

This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel, it has a friendly atmosphere and well located in Salisbury, so you can walk into the city centre and easily get onto the ring road. The rooms are generous and have everything you need, most importantly the bed is comfortable and showers work well The breakfast was very good with an excellent choice for those you want a traditional cooked breakfast or something a bit sweeter.

My room was spacious and clean and had everything I needed, including free Wifi, plenty of sockets, tea/coffee making facilities, TV. Bed was comfy. Quiet at night. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. It took me about 30/40mins to walk into town. However, there is a bust stop about 4/5 mins walk from the hotel. Free parking was good. No issues

Location was ideal. Just outside the town of Salisbury, with countryside views and a good-sized yard ("garden" in England) for recreational activities. The kitchen, dining room, the Japanese garden and the patio (with BBQ grill) were ideal for our group of 12 people. Parking space was also plentiful.

We loved the period features and charm of the Alfred Bowley room and the location were excellent - near all the facilities in Salisbury city centre. We also thought all the staff were professional and yet extremely friendly - not something you always get in the large characterless hotel chains.
