The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.
A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.
A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.
Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.
The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

LLandudno is ideal for day trips or short, perhaps two day, visits. There are bus services to other locations so visits to other towns are possible if Llandudno becomes dull. There is not a lot to do, I found.
If you are feeling fit, the walk to the top of the Great Orme takes around an hour with a coffee shop on the top. If walking is not an option you can take the tram up and/or down, which is recommended. The car park at the top is a bit expensive. There is also a service bus to the top.

The staff where excellent, but facilities where few.
The staff where excellent, but facilities where few.
I would definitely not advise disabled people to use it. The stairs at the front entrance are lethal plus they only had WiFi in certain parts of the hotel, usually near reception. Nothing in the rooms. There was no entertainment till the summer. The hotel itself was very comfortable but these little things spoiled our stay.
The hotel was very fresh and clean, I think possibly it has had a recent repaint as everything was perfect. Great location on the seafront, clean and cute room with sea view, comfortable bed and pillows. Information provided in the room gave us everything we needed for a quick turnaround and out to dinner. In room and breakfast facilities covered all bases. Communication from the hotel was relevant and timely, no-nonsense entry to hotel with door code texted before arrival. Really good value for money and would definitely recommend.
Our group occupied two spacious, comfortable, clean ensuite rooms, one with and one without sea view, in this pretty and distinctive Victorian villa hotel in an excellent location on the front at Llandudno. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has an attractive front-garden terrace with chairs for sitting out as well as a large, comfortable indoor lounge. Cooked breakfasts are served in a buffet arrangement.
Great location to Llandudno attractions.
The Hotel staff were all friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
We stayed in a King size room with Sea view which was beautifully clean with the comfiest of beds.
Breakfast was a continental buffet and staff taking orders for a cooked breakfast which freshly made to order and delicious!
We will definitely be returning in the future
Fantastic big, spacious luxury clean accommodation. The best in Llandudno that we have ever stayed in and better than the 5 star Imperial and St. Georges hotels. Fabulous sea views and great location . Great hosts, thought of everything and we will definitely be back next time we stay in Llandudno. Would highly recommend this to anyone considering a Llandudno break
Very comfortable and modern room with a relaxing atmosphere in the hotel, good menu choice and quality of food was exceptional. All staff were very welcoming, helpful and went that extra mile to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Location was fantastic with the pier and promenade right on your doorstep. Surrounded by plenty of choices of bars and restaurants.
Nice hotel, friendly staff at the reception and at the restaurant during breakfast. The single room had a sea view which was a pleasant surprise as it was not mentioned in the booking. Parking facility is a big plus for this hotel and the kind lady at the reception allowed us couple of extra hours after checkout. Overall very pleased with the experience.
The hotel is well located on the Llandudno sea front. The balcony room we had was immaculate and although it wasn’t huge (we knew that when we booked) the space was really well designed. The hotel is genuinely dog friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Wonderful staff too. I would definitely recommend The Belmont!
Great Location with great views. I really nice comfortable and clean apartment right in the heart of Llandudno.
Recommend going to the nearby cafe The Loaf. We went for breakfast and it was excellent! .
We also had a lovely meal in the sea view hotel bar and grill, excellent service, lovely food and good value.
The hotel was overlooking the seafront with views out towards the 2 Ormes. Pretty much based right in the middle of the seafront so easy access into town and over to the ormes for a hike. Apart from that pretty much what you expect from a seafront hotel.
Steve and Julie couldn't do enough, for all their guests. Breakfast is excellent, location close to all amenities Llandudno has to offer. Would recommend Burleigh Guest House and will definitely be returning
A lovely Easter weekend break.
Very good ĺocation, right on sea front, 2 min walk from town centre. Small car park at back and free parking on seafront between 4pm and 10am.
Excellent lady on reception, a cut above the rest of the staff.
Excellent.....Best hotel I've stayed in, in llandudno very courteous staff......the staff at the "grand hotel " should take lessons from the staff here will definitely return
Very clean room
We booked a superior double for the sea view and the view was stunning.
The bed was comfortable.
Llandudno is beautiful and I would absolutely return to the area but not this hotel.
