I always stay at this hotel on my way to England from the continent. It’s ideal for me with my dogs and a car. Always looking forward to a beautiful walk along the coast and a meal in local pub. Special thanks for being dog friendly 🐾❤️

As I have a mobility scooter we were relocated to a ground floor room. This, for obvious reasons, was not the executive room for which I had paid. Also, we did not get the continental breakfast for which I had paid, at £6 per person per night. So, I reckon we are due a partial refund. I have to say, however, that John was superb and a credit to the hotel. He helped me get my scooter in and out of the hotel, as all entrances had steps.

It wasn't my first choice (I was catching the channel ferry and I would have preferred to have been in Dover) but what a pleasant surprise. I was travelling with my dog and I was amazed at how dog friendly the town was. I particularly liked the coastal walks and I enjoyed reading the informational plaques around the town. One thing I found so touching was Remembrance Road adorned with the handmade poppies. I was struck by how much effort the council has devoted to highlighting Folkestone's attractions and making them accessible to visitors. I enjoyed just wandering around the town with my dog and appreciating it's history and sights. Folkestone turned out to be a serendipitous experience and I'm glad that I didn't stay in Dover.

Folkestone has reasonable shopping facilities for a small town. It is close to some very beautiful areas of Kent, like the Elham Valley. It has excellent train service on the high speed trains from London Canterbury is about 45 minutes drive away and well worth a visit. If you enjoy walking in scenic countryside Folkestone is surrounded by it.
The town is hilly and getting down to the harbour means negotiating a fairly steep gradient, so might be less enjoyable or more challenging for people with mobility problems. There is a bus service.
There are restaurants, pubs, places to eat out but if you're on a budget there is an Asda, a Sainbury and a Lidl store in the town centre where you can buy food. There is a good bus service to Dover and to Canterbury.
Lovely spacious reception area and fabulous location right on the seafront and close to the harbour and creative quarter. The owner Cesar who has been running it for 51 years! is super friendly, chatty and welcoming. He let me view a couple of the rooms before booking and I feel I got a really good deal. The room and hotel itself are full of character,.I didn’t try the breakfast so can’t comment on that but my room had a balcony looking out on the beach. It was pleasantly cool in the room unlike certain other Folkestone hotels.
We needed a place to stay for one night prior to taking the Dover ferry, and there weren't many options. We were delighted to discover Folkestone, which is an artsy, lovely village by the sea. The hotel is exactly what we expected: very inexpensive. Lovely location by the sea. Our room and beds were comfortable and just what we needed and expected. We took a day trip to the Dover Cliffs using public transportation (the bus stop is right next to the hotel), which was inexpensive and wonderful.
Great location , family rooms are clean and spacious. Had to call the number on the door prior to check in where a friendly staff member came to meet us and explained about the parking and check in . Family room had all the amenities such as wifi , tea & coffee making facilities, bottled water and complimentary chocolates on the bed was a nice touch . It’s not a 5 star hotel but if you want a clean basic place whilst in the area I would recommend
Absolutely perfect stay in Folkestone. Everything was perfectly appointed and thought out. Every time I thought “I wonder if they have ______” it was in the room. Beds and bedding were so comfortable, bathrooms were spotless, fridge had milk, every single thing we needed or wanted was there. Location was excellent for walking to a concert on the coast. Host was so friendly and helpful. Could not have been more perfect!
Arranged to stay for 1 night at the last minute for a stop off. Had a great stay without knowing much about Folkestone or the area around the hotel. It's safe to say that we will be back at some point.
The staff that we met were very helpful and welcoming. The room itself was amazing. Very clean, modern, and plenty of space. Amenities available in the room were great, lots of sockets and USB points.
Such a lovely property, really nice and comfortable room with everything you need, great breakfast - tasty and a good choice of hot and cold food. Very attentive and friendly staff. Fresh homemade cake in the afternoon was amazing - best banana bread I’ve ever eaten. Great location too, only a few minutes from the sea. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Folkestone.
The room was a good size, the bathroom was extremely clean. All the amenities were great. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel overall was a luxurious experience and we really enjoyed our stay.
The location is *perfect*. Within perfect distance of the town, Sandgate beach and a bus that too us to East Warren Cliffs, which we loved.
An excellent hotel for an overnight stay enroute to an early Eurotunnel crossing. Great location with easy access to Folkestone sea front, comfortable room, spotlessly clean. A great value alternative to many that we looked at. The local Bouverie Tap pub did excellent food and drinks.
I have been a hotelier for 35 years ideal, location for an event at the folkestone sports centre tho visitors are mainly overnight stayers usiing the channel tunnel.ideal place to rest before travelling on.A quiet and peaceful area.great value and superb breakfast.
Location is good. Sandgate is very nice and on a sunny day beach walks are great. some good cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. Folkestone and Hythe are short drives away too. The flat, once inside, is cosy and pretty well equipped.
Good hotel located near the cliffs/beaches of Folkestone. About a 20 minute walk along the coastal promenade to the town centre. Comfortable bed and rooms, good shower. Used as an overnight stop before onward travel by ferry from Dover to France.
The room was quiet and well located with balcony and seaview. Reception staff were very helpful and informative. Hotel was close to shops, cafes, bus station. Lots to see and do in Folkestone.
The hotel itself was really nicely decorated and our room was lovely. Beautifully decorated and very clean. Good attention to detail and everything we could have needed for our stay
