Beds were comfortable and there was little noise from outside the building. Cooked breakfast (paid for separately) was good, but not exceptional, and poor value at £10 each.

A Charming little village of Hook Norton, with this beautiful Charming 11th century Church. Close to beautiful Hook Norton Brewery built in 1849 and still making beer today. Great location to visit the beautiful Cotswolds.

Charming hotel located in a small village of thatched cottages. We only stayed one night as a stop-over on our way to see other parts of the UK. I did not research the area to see what was near by for those who may want to stay more nights. Loved the decor and had a lovely outside garden area to relax, and enjoy drinks or meal. Food was very good, reasonably priced and friendly service. Dinner service was a bit slow however.

Banbury itself is not the greatest spot (I used to live around the area for many years myself before moving away) however, there are so many other places to visit it doesn't matter. Banbury is excellent for grocery shopping with all tastes catered for and a range of supermarkets from Lidl up to Waitrose. Enjoy !

Banbury has a good shopping retail park called Gateway which is a drive away and on a bus route.
Town centre has lots of cafes, a few decent pubs and cocktail bars. Not sure about restaurants in the town but travel a few miles out of town , you’ll find some good pubs/ restaurants.
Lock29 in the shopping precinct is vibrant and a good choice of foods on offer by different vendors. Behind the precinct is the Banbury canal with a few food outlets, cinema and pub.

Came back for a family visit. I was born here. The town has grown, and along with it, the traffic, which is very heavy, but I suppose that comes with growth..
So many beautiful places to visit all within an easy drive of Banbury make it a n ideal location to stay.
We found great places for evening meals, light afternoon snacks, in fact so many we were amazed.

We were using Banbury as a base to visit relatives and did not explore Banbury in depth, so cannot give an authoritative view. It is actually a good base to visit places and is well positioned off the M40. (we moved on to a planned trip to Straford upon Avon after the 3 nights stay)
We recently stayed at a lovely 3-bedroom holiday house near Banbury for a company project. The house was spacious with a large living room and an artificially grassed garden, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Everything was exactly as described and very clean. The host was professional and ensured we had everything we needed. Additionally, the location was convenient, with local restaurants and shops just a short distance away. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we would highly recommend this property to others.
We stayed at Virginia House en route to London from the Lake District. Unfortunately, our stay was too short! This B&B was one of the best all-around accommodations of our three-week trip to England and Scotland. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the location perfect for our needs, and the breakfast fresh and varied. We had brioche French toast, which was not offered at any other B&B. Mike and Barbara are warm & friendly hosts. If we are able to return on another vacation, Virginia House will be on top of our list!
I booked a single room expecting it to be tiny but it wasn’t. The room had windows you could open-such a rare thing these days! For the money I paid, this stay exceeded my expectations. A clean, comfy room in a friendly hotel in the heart of a busy town - what a rare find! I didn’t have breakfast but the bar, and dining areas looked inviting. Car parking was great. The best thing was the friendliness of all staff I met. A smile makes all the difference.
The hotel was a very short walk into Banbury - no taxis needed . Banbury is also near lots of other lovely Cotswold villages . The B and B was lovely with everything you needed for a break . Sian , the owner , was very helpful indeed beforehand and very hospitable whilst there . She was really pleasant and always had time for a chat . Nothing was too much trouble . The breakfast was also excellent and set us up well for the airshow !
Easy to find, good parking area at rear of property, met by pleasant lady who explained Covid precautions whilst in the hotel.
Goid sized single room, comfortable bed & nice shower.
Slept well both nights with the odd slam of a door by other guests!
Chose not to have breakfast as I had to be at Silverstone for motogp round.
All in all, a nice place to stay, let down by the missed areas that were dusty.
the house was very old an full of character which is what we as a couple like instead it square plain rooms etc . Landlady was very friendly an told us our room was about 600 years old an a roaring real fire in reception area . can’t fault it at all , thank you , Andy Pacey and lorraine keane we will go back for sure 👍
Pretty village location close to Banbury and Duncan Bannatyne Spa. Comfortable beds with good quality bedding. Busy restaurant and bar with terrace overlooking a green. lovely to take breakfast outside on a sunny day.
Had a problem with shower that was resolved by hotel manager quickly and efficiently.
Location excellent and the staff where really friendly, but the rooms are dated and tired and the back of the hotel isn’t in keeping with the rest of it. It’s a wonderful old building and to say it’s the oldest building in Banbury they could make a more in keeping job on the back building.
I liked the very old nature of the hotel - not good for people with mobility issues as there are so many steps up down and around. My room was a long attic with bathroom at one end, central dressing area and bed at the far end. The bed was very comfortable and the food very good.
Very clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable. The neighborhood appeared safe and for the most part, quiet. Beautiful park with an aviary and rose garden nearby. Can walk to grocery stores and more shops. Even walked to Castle Quay. Very charming area.
the hotel was nice clean and quiet - parking was fine and the hotel staff were very pleasant - very straight forward gaining access to my room and have no complaints at all
The staff the hotel, location ... and the Food...best sandwich I'd had in a long time....and dinner was really good... everywhere was clean .
The staff were really lovely
The building was vintage in style and it had lots of lovely features. The staff were great and very helpful throughout our stay.
A must visit when in the area!
