All sights were inundated with tourists to the point that it was almost impossible to take a photograph without people crossing in front of the camera. One restaurant's waiter told us that his tip could not be put on the credit card I paid with and he wanted cash??? I have never had a server ask for a tip, let alone an under the table tip. His service was odd and forgetful too.

Great boat trip to Murano, Burano and Torcello.
Great boat trip to Murano, Burano and Torcello. Loved the Gondala ride although 90 Euros for 30 minutes is pricey. It’s busy in the streets, we met a couple who had been pick pocketed so be mindful. Also expect lots of annoying posers staging photo shoots for their social media.

Venice is a beautiful city with a rich history, amazing sites to see, restaurants, affordable shopping and options for trips and tours.
However, if you travel to Venice, make sure you do not have too many heavy bags. Depending on where you stay, you will have to walk a lot to get to your hotel. Since there is no public transportation in the city, you have to walk everywhere......
In addition, many hotels/apartments do not have elevators and thus Venice may be difficult to navigate for people with mobility issues.

Wonderful amazing place and exciting. Friendly and professional people. Awesome to sail around in either a taxi, gondola or bus even as well as see it. The streets are like a maze. Highly recommend this city, top 10. Different than other cities in a wonderful way. My husband and I loved Venice.

My wife and I have visited Venice before, and decided before our visit to avoid the area around St Mark's Square. For the most part, those things of interest to us were not overwhelmed by tourists, and it was wise to stick to the Dorsoduro area, which in every respect a more pleasant area for mooching. In walking around the San Marco district, one simply has to accept the facat of the crowded, narrow streets. Thank God the big cruise ships have been banned from the S Marco Basin and nearby waterways. The timing of our trip was linked to attendence of a production of Don Giovanni at La Fenice Opera house, which was outstanding, and was the highlight of our trip.
Soo cozy accommodation, very polite personal, Sarah was keeping in touch with us during all our stay in Venice. The location is perfect, tou could feel that you are part of domestic Italian life, non tourists area will put you more into Italy. There is small supermarket near by ,cheap and great selection.
The apartment has smart lock that why it make your arriving time so flexible...
The bed was soo good I was sleeping as a baby after long walks in the city.
Yhank you soo much ! Will come for sure next time only to your accommodation.
Where do I begin. This was our best stay in Italy. The apartment was spacious for the 4 of us. The staff Elisabetta was so friendly and responded to us immediately when we had questions. It was very convenient to walk from the hotel to San Marco Square and other areas. There were a few restaurants and bar nearby too. Breakfast was prepared one day ahead and topped up for the next day (cereal, milk, biscuits, yogurt etc.). They also had a small game room filled with board games and some books we could borrow during our stay.
Stephan at the front desk was amazing and ensured we had a great visit to Venice. He gave us recommendations on where to go, what to stay away from, and helped us with the train schedule so we could make it to our next stop safely.
The room was very clean and the view was just what I was hoping for! It is about a 2 minute walk to the train station and only minutes to major landmarks and points of interest. Overall, for my first visit to Italy, I couldn't be happier with our stay at Abbazia De Luxe!
Thank you Stephan!!
I had the pleasure of staying in this charming and intimate hotel in an absolutely fantastic location. It's just a 3-minute walk from the water taxi station, a mere minute from St. Mark's Square, and the gondola stop is conveniently right outside. The hotel boasts a unique style that beautifully captures the essence of Venice. The rooms are not only stylish but also impeccably clean, a rarity in Italy. The prime location added to the overall enjoyment of my stay. It was truly perfect, so I extend my sincere thanks!
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BOUTIQUE HOTEL, AND FOR FIRST TIME TRAVELORS TO VENICE IT WAS THE PERFECT LOCATION. IT IS IN THE HEART IF THE BEST PART OF VENICE, AND ALLOWS EASY ACCESS TO EVERYWHERE ELSE. THE ROOM IS BEAUTIFULLY SET UP, COSY, CLEANED DAILY, AND SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. WE HAD A SMALLER ROOM COMPARED TO OTHERS BUT IT WAS PERFECT FOR THE TWO OF US. THE STAFF ARE FANTASTIC AND HELPUL, AND WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO ENSURE WE WERE COMFORTABLE. I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN AND AGAIN IF I RETURN TO VENICE.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again. In a very good spot on a piazza close to 3 vaporetto stations in a central part of Venice. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was very good. The shower was the best I have had in Italy so far. There is nothing I didn't like. The decor was a bit wild but even that was cool and totally suited to Venice. The square it was in had lots of eating and drinking options but never felt crowded which is rare for Venice.
The facilities were immaculately clean, the staff was extremely helpful, the location was excellent, and the AC was the best we had in all of Italy!
And as a bonus point, we are observant Jews and not only was the hotel just 5 minute walk from the Jewish ghetto, they knew everything about staying at a hotel over the sabbath (physical keys, side entrance door that doesn’t open automatically etc.) which made things that much easier. 5 stars!
We traveled with a company to different cities in Italy and there were some problems in every hotel. Finally, everything worked in this hotel and there was even air conditioning! Everything you need in the kitchen to prepare dinner. Spacious bathroom and shower, stable hot water. The hotel located just right to the canal and the bridge - I stood and drank coffee there a couple of times, very lovely.
Beautiful setting, original features, tea, coffee facilities in room. Staff were amazing, and they carried our luggage to the top floor. Situated on grand canal opposite water buses which are far cheaper to get around city. Perfect little break. It's not a 5 star hotel by any means, but it's clean, grand, and very art decor. I would definitely go back as the location was perfect.
The Hotel was located in a perfect location. Staff was outstanding!!!! Helped with everything from restaurants, sights, and the pharmacy where we could get our Covid test and paperwork for our departure from Italy. Lara is enthusiastic about her job and helping you get the full Venice Experience!!!! This the only place that I would stay in Venice…..
I loved everything about the hotel. Nice staff, super clean, comfortable bed. Location is good. Comparing with a 4☆ hotel where I stayed in Milano, this was luxury level.
The breakfast is typical for Italy, very simple - like croissants, boiled eggs, a coffee, sweets, and juice & tea, some fruits. Not suitable for vegans.
Accomodation is located in the Jewish Ghetto of Venice. Easy 10 minute walk from main train terminal to apartment or 1 stop on the ferry. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean and had a nice view of the canal from both bedrooms. Water pressure in the shower was the best we found whilst in Italy.
Location is excellent, just a few minutes from Rialto. Communication with a host was very efficient, he gave good tips on Venice. The apartment is clean, has wonderful rooftop view, lots of daylight in the rooms, good beds. We travelled around Italy and this was the best apartment we had.
We were given a room with a canal view which was fantastic. Room was clean, comfortable, good bathroom, best breakfasts of all the hotels we stayed in in Italy, friendly staff, good location close to Rialto Bridge.
Perfect location, lovely rooms, friendly staff and loved the cafe shop!! This was the best place we stayed during our entire two week stay in Italy & cruise. I will definitely be back and book at this same hotel.
The directions to the hotel were detailed enough that I actually got to the hotel...a definite achievement in Venice1 The breakfast was the best I've encountered in my two months of travel through Italy.
The cost was comparable to other properties in Venice, but much higher than anywhere else in Italy. The breakfast was outstanding and with Easter Sunday there were a lot of special pastries and cakes.
Very nice place at the Giudecca near the Hilton hotel and boat station Palanca. A lovely host serving breakfast with a selection of various things, and not just cornetto (as is usual in Italy).
the best hotel service I had in Italy. Staffs were all kind and 24 hours ready. accomodation was great and as well as the location. There's taxi(boat) station right in front of hotel.
