What Guests Said About Venice:

Venice is just... Venice, nothing more needs to be said!

Venice is just... Venice, nothing more needs to be said! I mean there is more art there than you can possibly view unless you live there permanently. Tintoretto!!! It was my second visit (first visit 1982) but I worry about it. I worry about the water rising, I worry about the increasing floods of tourists... (yes, I was a tourist but...) I don't have any answers to the problems which are worldwide. People want to visit Venice, to have the experience of being there, but it contributes to the problem... Recommendations: fav bar - Bar Nico on Dorsoduro. Don't go to Harry's Bar nr San Marco: it's a tiny room with no visible Hemingway artefacts, the drinks start at 20 Eu - staffed by chancers in bow-ties! There are too many good restaurants -- try them all is my advice! Fav island of course Burano. On San Michele, Ezra Pound's grave is a very small stone lying on its back almost under a bush (took us an hour to find!)

Beautiful architecture of the main attraction buildings.

Beautiful architecture of the main attraction buildings. San Marco square floods at high tide which may make it difficult to cross at times, though makes for beautiful reflection photos particularly at blue hour. Very busy with tourists in the middle of the day, even at sunset. Getting in and out of the city requires a bit of planning. Would avoid large luggage if you can avoid it; if not taking private water taxi would be recommended so you can be dropped off close to your accommodation. Crossing the bridges (which all have stair steps) can be very difficult with luggage. If planning on getting a rental car, plan trip to Venice at the beginning or end so you don't need to park the car in the public lot. Getting around Venice for a first time visit was much easier with google maps; GPS worked fine even though some reports had said it did not work in the city streets well.

    Venice is an incredible city.

Venice is an incredible city. Definitely worth going during the week as it can get crowded and I would expect it to be even more so at weekends. Also there is a city tax payable to access Venice at weekends, which is not applicable during the week. The ferry can also get a bit busy, but it was ok while we were there. The area around Rialto is very crowded but if you go a bit out of that area towards Fondamenta Nuove it's fine. Murano and Burano worth visiting. Burano in particular is stunning, the restaurants there are excellent. Just be aware that the vaporetto ferry is very expensive, at €9.50 for a ticket valid 75 minutes only, so you will need 2 tickets to visit Burano as it's about 30-40 minutes away.

An old and beautiful city. People are very friendly. It was crowded with tourists in the narrow streets so be ready for that. Great dining options on almost every corner. I suggest a small group tour with someone local to get to know the history and legends of this beautiful city.

We loved the hotel - situated extremely close to the centre St Marks square , had a nice atmosphere with stylish furnishings. Our room was elegant and comfortable (though the water was not hot enough to take a shower in the morning or evening- this is the only reason why I rated the place very good instead of exceptional). The breakfast was exceptional - coffee, a wide choice of baked goods, delightful pastries, savoury food etc. We travelled a lot in Italy and I would rate the breakfast as one of the best we have experienced in Italy so far.

My second stay was at the Le Isole Hotel in Venice. Amazing breakfast (maybe even the best you can get in hotels in all of Italy of hotels of 3-star level), cleaning services, and very kind staff. The hotel is just in the center of Venice, a few steps from St Marco and it is super easy to get to the airport and back with the ferry which goes from the Venice airport because the station is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Very calm, even if it's in the center, with clean rooms and good room service. I will be back again for sure!

Where do I begin. This was our best stay in Italy. The apartment was spacious for the 4 of us. The staff Elisabetta was so friendly and responded to us immediately when we had questions. It was very convenient to walk from the hotel to San Marco Square and other areas. There were a few restaurants and bar nearby too. Breakfast was prepared one day ahead and topped up for the next day (cereal, milk, biscuits, yogurt etc.). They also had a small game room filled with board games and some books we could borrow during our stay.

Stephan at the front desk was amazing and ensured we had a great visit to Venice. He gave us recommendations on where to go, what to stay away from, and helped us with the train schedule so we could make it to our next stop safely. The room was very clean and the view was just what I was hoping for! It is about a 2 minute walk to the train station and only minutes to major landmarks and points of interest. Overall, for my first visit to Italy, I couldn't be happier with our stay at Abbazia De Luxe! Thank you Stephan!!

We started our two week honeymoon in Italy at Campiello Zen with three nights in Venice. The room was super clean with a great shower and lovely antique touches; the common area has an awesome patio and full kitchen and the location is very central but in a quiet neighborhood. The BEST part of this B&B is the host Andrea! He provided us an amazing walking route through Venice, tons of local recommendations, made us dinner reservations upon request and just a super friendly guy. Highly recommend!

This was one of our best accommodations on our Italy trip. The location was perfect, right in the heart of Venice tourism locales. Walking distance in minutes to the Rialto as well as St Marks sq. Most cafes and restaurants of repute within walking distance. The hosts communicated well. The apartment can best be described as elegant. There were cookies on the hall table and bedside tables which was a nice touch. Air-conditioning was vital in the humid Italian heat. Perfect for a family.

The location is excellent. Even though you can find accommodation in Venice for cheaper costs, one should remember that the city is quite busy and walking around can get pretty tiring. We were incredibly happy that we could go back to our place in the center whenever we felt like getting some rest or just dropping packages from shops. Also, the breakfast is probably the best one could expect in Italy cause you get not only cold but also hot options.

Great central location and close to the Biennale (Giardini and Arsenale). Beautiful rooms, bar, lounge and breakfast room. Spectacular garden area behind the hotel. The best breakfast in Italy!
