The location is very handy to the Vatican as well as Metro and shopping. The rooms we stayed in were large and spacious - we had two suites for our selves and two daughters. These rooms can sleep 3 easily as have an extra single bed in each. The street number on the website need to be updated, as reception has moved a few doors down and was difficult to find. This was a second stay, the first was in 2009. The friendliness of the staff this time was lacking compared to 3 years ago. The attention to detail of maintenance in rooms needs to be improved - for example loose power-points/outlets and the toilet buttons falling off walls. The worst part of our stay was the 3 out of 4 days of cold showers - we complained every morning about. (supposedly each day someone fixed the boiler), plus the breakfast was why bother most days - it was a mixture of stale leftovers from the coffee shop at the front, sweet pastries, plastic cups for coffee, if any was left, very picked over most days and was the worst breakfast offered in our month of travelling in Europe. We only really used the breakfast room for Wifi - as Wifi was very poor in the rooms. And though we kept trying breakfast each day, we bought breakfast elsewhere - even though it was included in our rate. We also voiced our opinion on day 1 about the poor quality breakfast. Our last day the food was actually fresher and the owner did try and listen to concerns and offered/ provided us a nice free coffee and snack - however felt too little to late. Unfortunately I will not recommend not stay here again.

Very good location, clean (They cleaned the room every day), big room. The Vatican is about 3 minutes walk. Every main interest in Rome can be reached by walk. A lot of restaurants and lovely coffees nearby. We had a very good time, would love to go back again. If I have to think of negative things about the hotel the one and only would be the breakfast. The selection of foods is Very poor, The third day We even skipped it and had a fresh sandwich and coffe in one of the the nearby cofees.

Location, room was very quiet (it was facing the inner courtyard), nice girls at the reception desk. An old man (suppose it was the owner) very rude to the stuff walking around. Saw him yelling arrogantly at a receptionist during our check-in and next day at the breakfast. Our room (N.18 at Via Catone 21) wasn't perfectly clean. Vacuum was used only vaguely in the centre of the room, corners grey of dust. It all looked a bit shabby.

Its location was second to none, as it was just on the doorstep of St. Peters and the Vatican, The staff were extremely friendly and most helpful in every way. The third floor bedroom on Via Catone was very pleasent. The bathroom attached to my bedroom was extremely small and difficult to cope with as everything was so close together. Breakfast was not great, most mornings the breads etc. all seemed to have been left over from previous day(s) and were quite stale. The Hotel wasn't easy to find for a first time guest.

Localization and staff. Everything else. There was no hot water most of the time, a dog has pissed on the elevator floor and it took a whole day for it to be cleaned, I was requested to change my rooms during my stay, having to stop my walk in the middle of the day to go back to hotel and pack my things, forgetting my chargers at the old room -- and it took a whole day for receiving them back --, the restaurant was not good (not bad either, though).

Hotel has great location just a couple of minutes from Vatican. It is placed in one floor of the private house. The reception is placed next to the restaurant around the corner (80m). The room was clean with beautiful pictures and comfortable beds. The reception-hotel has no sign from outside (we had a problem to find it, but the waiter from the restaurant show us the doors). The receptionist were unpleasant, hostile,we had to ask them for all information by ourselves. When we asked them for something(password for wi-fi,sending postcard),they did not arranged it for us.In the room were broken sun-blinds,bathroom door, sink, empty minibar(no one repeared it during 3 days). The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The breakfast contains from coffee, black tea, milk, instant juice, butter, jam, sweet croissant, instant eggs, sometimes yogurt and the rest from the restaurant from the evening(one day baked pasta, than stuffing). One day the plates were not available. If you do not need to use plastic spoon for all your breakfast, you must steal dishes from the restaurant. The staff returns uneaten food from the tables(after guest)back to the offer! 80Eur per night is not so low rate have this experience.

“The location and the price offered. Plus the staff speak sufficient english and are very polite and helpful. The Buffet breakfast is very good and has good choice so to start a day on a good start, plus the staff in the breakfast area are jolly and polite. This was our second stay in the hotel and we would recommend it to any couple looking for a central hotel. Hotel trevi is close to all the main places one should visit.” Jacqueline, Mosta |
