What I liked most was O Gadys Pub. Ana Gourmet Ana Esteves was very helpful. We visted in the 90's it was beautiful small village. This time it looked tired in places. Beautiful board walk at the end of that walk at the harbour a soccer pitch play area it was all over grown and Graffiti on the wall looked awful also at end of the village coming from Alvo golf come to a roundabout grass all overgrown looks very poor for a tourist village. If you want a vibrant night life holiday then Alvor is not...
If you want a vibrant night life holiday then Alvor is not for you. Book Albufeira. Alvor is a fishing village as much as it is a tourist spot. It has dozens of vibrant bars and the restaurants are a very high standard but really well priced. There is a range of traditional Portuguese, italian, fish, indian, Chinese, Japanese and at least 4 really good steak houses. The bars are busy and some have live music and DJs but not really a nightclub type of place. The beach has a really long and beautiful walk with lots of small beach hut style bars. every 100m or so. The sea is nice for a swim in the summer months but can be a bit choppy during colder months. There are loads of options for boat trips from nearby Portimao. There is a also skydiving and a kitesurfing school. It has a small airport with daily flights to Porto and Lisbon so if are staying for a long time you could base in Alvor do a few days city break. Uber is very popular but there is also a normal taxi rank and bus stops that can take you to other parts of the Algarve. I would recommend day boat trip to Bengali caves. They have bit boats options with bars or if you are feeling brave then try the skydiving. The end of the beach as the famous "3 brothers beach" which is one of the windows default screens. Also water parks nearby and also Zoomarine if you have younger kids.Guest review byGaryUnited Kingdom

The apartment was really nice well equipped and the swimming pool was a great addition. The beach was about a 10min walk and the main town centre to Alvor was a 15min walk. You could reach the town centre within 4 mins with an uber which is a great price in Portugal. Maria was lovely and very accommodating. She let us leave our luggage at 11am although check in was not until 3pm. Thanks a million for a lovely stay and we will definitely be back again!Guest review byAilishIreland

Close location to the beach and boardwalk, easy walk into Alvor or with a bus stop outside for those who don't want to walk. Vania on Reception was very helpful with booking a day trip to see local points of interest. Having a small supermarket on site was also good.
