A vibrant, friendly city, bursting with organised chaos. Friendly people and feels extremely safe. I didn't have time to explore beyond the Old Quarter, but loved the street food, "beer corner", the small places selling the fresh local beer ("bia hoi"), the night market, and the museums I managed to visit - Hoa Lo prison, Military Museum and Imperial Citadel I could have happily spentmany more days drinking flavoured coffees and teas, trying local dishes and watching the city go past.

As crowded and as noisy and as dirty Hanoi is, it has a charm that is quite its own and it is not to be missed. The street food is incredible, and even if you see a place that is not quite up to western sanitary standards, don't give it a miss, the food will be amazing and won't make you sick.

Very busy with lots of bars and restaurants at affordable prices. Food was really good and everyone catered for. There is a lovely lake and park and you can pick up a hop on hop off siteseeing bus tour at the Opera House, which was great value and a great way to get around and see the sites.

Besides having things to do in Hanoi, it is the springboard for places such as Sa Pa, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay. The food is great with many options. The water puppet show was spectacular and train street a hoot. Definitely try the various coffees and local dishes. Many options in Hanoi for vegetarians too. The prison (Maison Central) was very interesting and I believe the Women’s Museum is fascinating too. And oh, the Vietnamese are so generous and hospitable. My visit was beginning of June and the days were hot - 34-35 degrees, so be prepared if you visit at that time.Amanda-LeeAustralia

We would highly recommend using this hotel for your visit to Hanoi and having Ms Kim help you plan your trip. She is the best!

There are lots of shops in the area and being near the lake is wonderful for doing exercise. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast was superb.
