Small old town, Old Amersham is at the bottom of the hill from the main part of Amersham and the tube station. Lovely walks, views and pubs. We've done lots of day trips before but it was nice to get away and stay there for a couple of nights.
Old Amersham is the most delightful Chilterns location. Good women's clothes shops in town. Wonderful toy shop opp Kings Arms. Elephant & Castle pub well organised for Covid with huge garden & decent pub food.
Amersham is a beautiful town to escape to for some quality time away. The town is so clean, lovely shops, everyone is so friendly. 6 pubs to chose from (very dangerous 😊)just perfect in every way. We were lucky enough to visit whilst Heritage Day was on and what a really lovely day that was. Gilbey’s restaurant was lovely, as was our hotel The Crown.
Old Amersham makes a good overnight stop. Several good coaching Inns, lots of boutique shops and interesting architecture on the High Street, an antiques fair in the old open market hall on a Saturday, plus a brilliant destination restaurant in The Artichoke.
