We felt at home the moment we opened the door at 28 Clifford Road. It's such a warm and welcoming place. The location is very convenient, just a 6-minute drive to the harbour for breakfast by the water and about 16 minutes to Canterbury Cathedral. The house was comfortable and well-equipped, with cable TV in every room. The host was very helpful and thoughtful. We’ll definitely stay again and recommend it to our friends.

Plenty of really good places to eat.

Plenty of really good places to eat. Whitstable is a friendly place to stay. There are many places to visit i,e. Whitstable Castle, Tankerton - the walk along the shore between Whitstable and Tankerton gives seating areas every so often if needed. Swimming, bowling and skate park also add to the choices of things to do for all ages.

We went out of season and found a good vibe without being overcrowded. It's pretty with a range of great places to eat, great pubs and little shops to wonder round. Nice for strolling on the beach.

I grew up near Whitstable and having moved away from Kent 20 years ago, I always love visiting this area again when visiting family in Canterbury/Whitstable. The town has developed nicely - it makes the most of the harbour area and the town itself now has some lovely boutique shops and a good range of interesting places to visit, including some lovely restaurants and cafes. There's always a buzz there and I enjoy being there, whatever the weather. It's not somewhere I'd choose for sunbathing (not that sort of beach) but for shopping, eating, general wandering and taking in some sights, it's always a lovely place to visit.

Whitstable is pleasant seaside town.

Whitstable is pleasant seaside town. It has many small independent shops which means a better variety of goods are available. The high street is narrow but has two way traffic. This problem is mitigated by having many road crossing points and is a 20mph zone. There is a good variety of restaurants, cafes and tea shops to suit any budget. It is a great place to visit.

It was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and ideal for our short break. I’ve never had the tea making goodies provided in any of the other cottages we’ve stayed in - it almost felt like we were in a posh hotel! On the dry weather days, we were able to have some ‘al fresco’ breakfast and evening meals out in the private courtyard garden. It was close enough to walk into Whitstable town centre and down to the beach and along the Tankerton slopes, but was also set back from the road. Having its own parking space was fantastic.

Situated on the sea front in Tankerton, The Marine Hotel is a historical building with plenty of character. The conservatory restaurant is a light airy venue for breakfast. The Housekeeper and Manager were very quick to rectify a problem.
