The property was in the middle of Chianti Classico region. Lots of wineries and restaurants very close as well as being located near many must see cities in the region such as Sienna and San Gimignano. The countryside is absolutely beautiful. Anna, the host, was so sweet. Wonderful communication and she had many recommendations for places to go nearby. The historic apartment was very large, well stocked and decorated nicely. We could have used a second pillow for the bed, but we slept just fine for four nights (and didn’t ask for additional bedding).
We did a winery tour and tasting with lunch. The tour was very interesting (the guide really knew his stuff) the wines were delicious, and the food that was served with each wine was outstanding. Much more substantial than a “light” lunch. We had a great experience!

There was an indoor/outdoor option for breakfast, which was nice.
It was typical Italian fare - pastries, bread, pastries, cheese, pastries, cereal, pastries, cold meats, pastries, juices, yogurts, fruit, endless varieties of caffeine and...there were pastries.
Driving was as most countryside driving is in Italy, narrow roads with picturesque views.
The only thing I would avoid is coming during the hottest time of the year.

This was the best place we stayed at during our whole Italy tour.
The overall feeling of being there was just so great that we were sad to leave. Alberto was very welcoming and we got even an insight in how the wine and olive oil is produced (and we were allowed to taste it - great quality, especially excellent olive oil! )
The view is breathtaking. It’s so close to the next city but it is still so quiet and surrounded by olive groves and wines.
The rooms are spacious and have everything needed.
We would love to return one day :-)
We stayed at the Petrognano for 5 nights on july. The hotel is gorges and very othentic ! Every way you look you see the thinking about all the details. The rooms are very big and comfortable, the swiming pool is beutiful. The bracfast was very nice also. The staff was very helpful and helped to plan our trips and recommended of Several good restaurants are in the near by village - barbarino.
One of the best travel experience! Tuscany is itself a gem of Italy and Ormani domain is a pearl, fitted perfectly in decor. A few old stone houses, renewed, but keeping their epochal perfume, the swimming pool, the beautiful roses and, last, but not least, the view to the hills of Tuscany! Enjoy a glass of Chianti, looking to a fantastic sunset, is priceless!
The place is more than the hotel, it is a place with a soul. It is a typical Tuscan house furnished with beautiful furniture. There's a private yard and a magnificent view. A fantastic place if you need peace and quiet. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. The distance to Siena or Florence is 20km. There are also nice eateries nearby.
Liked everything. Very attentive, kind and helpful owners of the hotel. They helped in all matters, where to go to the beach, in which restaurant to dine, what to visit and so on. A beautiful area, a real Tuscany. I recommend to everyone.
