The Duoma Cathedral was magnificent. It blew my mind walking on the roof. The Last Supper was a wow moment. Luckily we had booked the tickes as they are only on sale every 3 months. The shopping centre in Duoma is architecturally a stunning building. Never mind the actual shops which we couldn't afford to step into. Lovely vibe to the city. Milan is a good place for long weekend city break. Our stay of 5 nights was probably a little bit too long and 3 or 4 maximum would have been just right. Milan itself is a beautiful city with great architecture. The Duomo di Milan has to be one of the most stunning buildings I have seen. We found people friendly and mostly helpful and if you have a few words or phrases of Italian it helps a lot. The location we stayed in, Navigli, was a pleasure to stay. Prices for food and drinks were reasonable and no more expensive than UK city prices. The most expensive meal we had with wine in a good restaraunt was around E40 a head. but you can easily have a meal for two for that i.e.Pizza/ Pasta etc. and I am sure you could also find somewhere a lot more expensive.
