Very beautiful hotel, renewed last year. So clean and nice environment. Smells like parfume inside the property. 😄 Small, not near any canal but if you are looking for a special boutique hotel with good price go for it… Very delicious breakfast by the way. Don’t try to look for another place for beeakfast. Personel was very gentle (except one, explained below).

Incredible rooms, staff are the nicest you can expect, as clean as ever and you always feel at home in this hotel. I asked for something special for my girlfriend's birthday last minute and they filled the room with baloons and wrote a letter which she loved, all free of charge! Upon our arival, we had an upgrade to our room which I always really appreciate. The hotel itself is very luxurious and a great place to go with your partner to pass a weekend in Venice. We walked basically everywhere and very easy to reach from the train station.

Summer of course is not the best choice due to the crowds,...

Summer of course is not the best choice due to the crowds, though once you leave the San Marco area the crowds are less and very manageable. We had always read that the canals smelled bad in the summer, but this was not the case. We did two special tours of the Doge's Palace which were really interesting and not crowded. 1 hour kayak tour was also interesting and fun. Getting around Venice is very easy but be prepared for lots of walking and steps on the many, many little bridges. The vaporetto (water bus) are easy but not as cheap as we expected (previous visits). Water taxis are expensive.

My time in Venice was far too short.

My time in Venice was far too short. Even though this was my second visit, I always feel like I could stay for many more days. This visit, I finally explored the full St. Mark’s Basilica experience—climbing to the top and soaking in panoramic views of the piazza, the Doge’s Palace, and the lagoon itself. Standing atop such a historic landmark and admiring the detailed Pala d’Oro up close was deeply impressive. We dined at a couple of exceptional restaurants, including Guna , which was incredible—fine dining without being overly expensive. We also dined at much more casual Trattoria la Rivetta, this place was my favorite the last time also, amazing wine, perfectly cooked fresh pasta and seafood. Truly, Venice has some of the best seafood imaginable, and as a chef, discovering great restaurants here is always a thrill. Shopping was another joy—beautiful, locally made Italian leather purses and unique keepsakes, from as little as one euro upwards, made browsing irresistible. I also rediscovered how charming Venice is via the Vaporetto water taxis, perfect for crafting your own journey—whether you’re hopping between Rialto and the Grand Canal on a budget, or indulging in a gondola or private water taxi ride. What stood out most was how welcoming Venice felt. There was nothing creepy or unsafe about it. Walking around at midnight with my teenage daughter, even through narrow back alleys, I never felt uneasy or in danger. It’s one of my favorite cities I’ve ever visited, and I can’t wait to return again very soon.

On our eyes Venice is a great city.

On our eyes Venice is a great city. We spent four days of exploring mostly by foot. It was a real pleasure “to get lost” in the old city and discovering beautiful monuments in not expected places. We took local tours to Murano and Burano. We recommend it . Very nice places. We think that four days is the optimal time for the visit. Taking the hotel in Venice and not in Mestre turned out to be a good idea as we could return to the hotel for short rests and then continue our touring

Venice is beautiful, unique well worth a visit. I personally wouldn’t stop for long as there are lots of tourists but we always manage to find a restaurant or area which amongst the back streets is quiet. We have visited the main attractions, The Doge Palace was remarkable quiet inside considering the volume of people outside, Murano Burrato much quieter, worth a visit.

It was very busy and crowded in the beginning of August.

It was very busy and crowded in the beginning of August. We tried to find the less crowded areas - the Giardini della Biennale park was nice to stroll through, and going to Piazzetta S Marco square very early or in the evening was nice. Our favorite thing in Venice was attending a Vivaldi concert at a church. We didn't make reservations - just strolled and stopped wherever we felt like it. Prices are lower in some of the less crowded areas. We enjoyed taking the water buses around and seeing the island from the water, as well as a short trip out to Murano.

Fantastic place to stay in Venice. Central to everything including the vaporetto. Yes it's a little tucked away but it becomes the best thing about the hotel! Only downsize was that the breakfast is not included but we paid for one morning and it was our worst breakfast in the whole 5 weeks in Italy. But easy to get breakfast somewhere else just to stay here!
