Although it's considered the oldest inhabited city of the Americas and Peru's historical capital, neither of these truly describes the magic enchantment and colorful people of Cuzco. Lovely city, so much to do. Leave two days to enjoy the city, lot´s of good food. We stayed more days so we could do tours around Peru. We went to Laguna Humantay, vinicunca and vale sagrado. You can stay easily 5 days in the city. Amazing trip with wonderful people. Amazing magical place, All they do is exploit the turist people, but still cheap to eat well, and the tours. Carefullinthe streets, the cars doe snot respect people walking and they will drive over you. Friendly people, and nice. You will get overwhelmed of people to ask you to buy their things, but it is the way it is, and Cusco is amazing. My cell phone was stolen on my last day at Cusco, pick pocket was not uncommon around Mercado Central de San Pedro. I am not the only one need assistance from the Tourist police to report for stolen phone. The efficiency of the police is not desirable, once they know my travel insurance do not cover the lost of electronic device, they do not show the willingness to issue me the declaration. Cusco is definitely a city worth seeing with scenic views everywhere. All of the people in Cusco, that I interacted with, were very accommodating, respectful and helpful. Cusco is a walking city with restaurants on every corner to have a respite.
