FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laid-back, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city center has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialties such as western rock lobster and chili mussels. There are also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

What Guests Said About Perth:

  • 10.0

    The city is clean!

The city is clean! There are plenty of trees and gardens which are all very well cared for. The roads are quite glorious with multiple lane highways, overhead bypasses, roundabouts - and it all works - there is very little congestion. The people are friendly and happy to assist - one young man virtually walked us to our apartment when we got lost one night! There are lots of interesting places to visit. I particularly recommend Rottnest which is glorious and the Margaret River area which is an opportunity to sample local produce.

I love PERTH, so its hard to say. Perth is full of every thing and very modern but also very traditional. Its very easy to get around. Tourist Information is great and lots of offers for solo and elderly travellers like me.

    Perth is a fabulous city.

Perth is a fabulous city. This was our third visit, but the first time in the winter. Should have brought some winter clothing!! 😅 Elizabeth Quay is lovely, as is the pedestrian shopping areas. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. It’s a city where new meets old. You can easily get a train to Fremantle then get the ferry to Rottnest Island where you will find quokkas who love to pose with you to have their photos taken. There’s plenty to do and see.

    We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay. Lighting in rooms a bit dim but comfortable room. Disappointed in the view we had...roof tops and parking lot. Pillows and bed comfy. We had the Beauty and the Beast High Tea. Highly recommend. We went to the opening night of the Beauty and the Beast Musical and it was fantastic.

We went to visit our newborn grandchild so didn’t do much touristing especially since we are frequent visitors. The roads are excellent compared to Sydney. It’s very easy to get around and getting to the airport is a breeze, unlike Sydney.

Perth is a beautiful Capital of WA.

Perth is a beautiful Capital of WA. It has large nature reserves and garden in the city or close to city. However, WA is a very large state. To do justice you need a transport as some of the best natural beauty exist out of Perth. Its a slow moving City with only the motorways experiencing traffic congestion during peak hours. City caters for every visitor in terms of food and parking system is one of the best in Australia. You only pay for minutes you actually park. Places to see are many but the Rottnest island stands out, kings park is great, walk on Perth Esplande south, bell your, Optus stadium precinct and numerous green spaces around city is great.

Got off the train from the airport and walked to hotel. I was able to walk to the Federal Court, as the location was central and walked back to train station and flew back to Melbourne. Awesome and will do it again when next in Perth for Court next month.

location was super handy to Subiaco, Perth & northbridge, rooms are very spacious & have everything you need. apartments are much more value for money than just a hotel room seeing as you get a whole kitchen, washing machine etc.
