Excellent location for short stays, especially for people who would like to visit nearby attractions including but not limited to Cotswolds, National Trust's and English Heritage's. Banbury is a little run down in the shopping area but the walk along canal is great and there are other parks around for walks. People are very pleasant. Because our hotel didn't serve meals we ate at the local Wetherspoons, which serves good food at very good rates. As a stranger to Banbury I found it difficult to navigate in a car but by foot there is excellent signposts. Our high ceiling bedroom with large beams was very nice. The bathroom was very good with a good shower. The breakfast was very good with continental and full English on offer. We were shown a secret panel in a room that had a staircase which let upstairs-as this is a listed building the inside cannot be changed.
