This hotel was very tired and could go with a luck of paint… the bathroom was grubby.. toilet seat had black marks where it had had the enamel scratched off the shower glass had mould at the bottom of it and the shower may was grubby underneath… also the entire room was lacking in any light.. the fans from the kitchen were a constant hum and the bed linen wasn’t big enough for the two single beds they’d put together .. we booked for 2 nights but left after one… the staff were great and food was ok but accommodation was shocking… also accommodation want even in the pub but around the corner I would like someone from customer services to contact me direct about the entire experience please

Sherborne is a perfect small town; historic buildings, compact town centre with a wonderful variety of independent shops and brilliant pub’s and restaurants. Try the Digby Tap for great Real Ale and Tambourinos for a fantastic Italian Restaurant.

Sherborne is a beautiful town in a lovely county of Dorset.
Sherborne is a beautiful town in a lovely county of Dorset. Lots to see and do in and around the town. Lovely Abbey, gardens, places to eat. I can recommend the Cross Keys as somewhere to eat the food is great.

Sherborne is a lovely town with lots to see and do. Good places to eat and drink. Town is not too large to be intimidating it can be fully seen in a couple of days. Look out for the Digby Tap pub, its what a pub should be!

A very interesting town.
A very interesting town. The castle and gardens are well worth a visit. Also the Abbey is magnificent along with the area ribs about. The high street has plenty of interest, with several independent cafes and shops. The town is architecturally attractive. Plenty of cat parks.
The location is wonderful, especially with the surrounding countryside offering various walks and the bonus of a working commercial bakery next door :-) Annie and Colin were the perfect hosts, giving enough space for us but we knew they were always available if there were any problems. Sherborne is a lovely well-appointed town with lots to see even in limited lockdown. The breakfast was delicious with local produce much in evidence - the cereal lasted us all week. Convenient parking. Able to use the garden for R&R.
They left a delicious loaf of sourdough from a local baker, fantastic local milk & butter, and on top of that a fresh baked pound cake on the counter. The hospitality was excellent. The bathroom and bedrooms were immaculate. It has just the perfect size common room & kitchen for vacation. The location is the best you'll find in Sherborne period. I loved my stay and I hope that when I'm drawn back to the city that the Yardhouse is available then.
The property was very clean, tidy and comfortable. We had a lovely stay for 5 nights. The kitchen was well equipped and the owners left us some milk and biscuits, which was lovely of them. It was a great base for exploring Somerset (Sherborne, Cheddar Gorge and the Fleet Air Arm Museum) and Dorset (Cerne Abbas, Lyme Regis, Charmouth, West Bay and Kimmeridge)
Family room is excellent - very spacious and well appointed. Clean. Modern bathrooms. Staff was very helpful and allowed us to check out an hour late. Great location a few minutes walk from town. We left two items and the hotel mailed them back to us after alerting us via email. Wonderful service!
Ease of book in and ideal location. Short walk to Sherborne centre.
Tea/coffee, fresh milk, biscuits, sparkling water plentiful and easy to access in the refreshments nook.
Bistro, excellent food. Well worth trying the A La Carte menu, plenty of choice, delicious food and lovely atmosphere.
Unbelievable food, very hospitable staff, lovely location. We didn't get the best weather for walking but did go into Sherborne for the Saturday market which is beautiful and visited Haynes Motor Museum on the way home on Sunday which was a brilliant morning out.
It was quirky and very old. Our room was very comfortable with plenty of facilities, including hair dryer and ironing board. The property was very well located opposite Sherborne Abbey and right in the centre of town. Free parking nearby was provided.
It is definitely a bed and breakfast establishment as opposed to an hotel. Once I realised this , I was quite happy. My room was very nicely appointed . The staff were also extremely pleasant and very helpful. A freshly cooked breakfast was delicious
Susie and her Claire Cottage were fantastic! Beautiful historic home that was within walking distance of all of Sherborne's best attractions, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Breakfast was scrumptious. A day trip to Lulworth Cove is highly recommended.
Spacious bedroom; spacious en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower; lovely range of teas in room with fresh milk provided; super breakfast; very warm and informative welcome from Rupert; good proximity to lovely Sherborne. Excellent value.
A cleverly appointed studio minutes from Sherborne station. Has everything a couple or small family would need for a short stay. Very clean and comfortable. All the little touches like the wireless phone charger were much appreciated.
Nice apartment located in the small village. Very pleasant and quiet place for people who like nature. Not fare from Weymouth and other Devon Coasts line.
