Boutique hotel with a very small number of rooms in a historic building was out of sight; room was spacious and bedding including extraordinarily soft high thread count cotton sheets; bartender was friendly; receptionist was hugely helpful acting as concierge to answer all of my local questions; deck view of estuary mouth and English channel was awesome; complimentary smooth as water gin stored in a crystal decanter and tonic water was a fantastic surprise

The hotel has been recently completely refurbished and we stayed in the new building which had been decorated to a high standard and was very aesthetically pleasing

Fowey is a lovely, typical fishing village however it has the usual plethora of second homes, airbnb and rental properties. It’s not too commercial though. Lots of narrow streets and old buildings.
We visited in March and it was lovely, I suspect that in the high season it will get very crowded. A nightmare to drive through!

Classic Cornish small coastal town nestled on the steep western bank of a creek. Full of character and plenty of real local people as well as tourists. Be prepared for a steep heart stopping climb to the central car par if you miss the Town (mini) Bus which appears every 15 minutes.Highly recommend Bufala Italian restaurant/.pizzeria - don't be put off by drab road facing entrance/waiting area. Pintxo tapas bar looked interesting but could not get a seat.

A very idyllic town, by the river Fowey, especially when the sun is out and sparkling on its surface.
Excellent opportunities to walk along the coast, or to jump on to ferries and visit other towns. Some lovely beaches and coves nearby (Readymoney Cove is lovely and at walking distance from the centre) making it possible to dip into the river. Many links to Daphne du Maurier around the area - although Manderley is private (and under a different name) it’s easy to be enraptured by the atmosphere.
Buses are just a couple and not very regular, but it’s still possible to visit the area even if you don’t own a car.
I truly recommend.

A delightful place to visit.
A delightful place to visit. Wonderful swimming at Readymoney Bay.
Good long Beach for strolling at Par Bay a short drive out of Fowey.
The town of Fowey is charming, set on the River. However the steep walk from and up to the upper part of town is a kittle challenging.
Fowey offers a good selection of restaurants and shops.

Lovely location especially Readymoney beach and the shops & pubs.
Little bit challenging getting to accommodation by car, to drop our bags off, as it’s a single road one way system. So if you miss it you either have to go round again or park up and walk back.

A really compact village/town with everything centrally placed, plenty of choice of drinking or eating places.
Only downside is the carparking on the fringe of the town, you would need to catch the town taxi/bus if you have any mobility problems.
Visit Llanhydrock Place the best National Trust property I've ever entered.
The hotel is right in the center of Fowey. There is hardly any parking in the immediate vicinity and you have to park in the large parking lot above the center, so you have a short but steep walk to the hotel. The room had everything you need and was clean. The dinner in the pub was very good and also the breakfast was tasty and sufficient. For dinner, however, you should reserve a table in the pub in any case. The staff was very friendly.
The Galleon has THE best waterfront location. it was just wonderful to gaze out of the window or sit on the patio outside and drink in the wonderful water views. situated in the heart of Fowey you can step outside and immerse yourself in the many individual shops. The hotel was clean, the bedrooms were well equipped, even had an AC unit which was most welcome, and the morning breakfast is superb. The staff are also so friendly and caring.
The staff were amazing, so kind, friendly, helpful, one of the highlights of the trip. Lovely area right by the sea with the restaurant being a few feat from the sea. Easy to go on walk around area straight hotel. Lovely room, tastefully furnished with good quality fittings, and nice selection of teas etc on the room. The food was really tasty in the restaurant and breakfast was superb.
On arrival I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom lodge, this was beautiful, spacious, bigger than my flat I live in! The actual hotel is magnificent, in lovely grounds. I didn't get much time to explore as I arrived late and left early. However the first impressions and service I received was superb. Definitely will be back
Secluded location, building with lots of history and character. Room was spacious, bathroom nice and modern. The Bramley shower gels and shampoo smelt great
lounge area was lovely, with great views of Fowey harbour.
the shop was a cute little addition, lots of interesting things to purchase
Steak pie was splendid
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous - beautiful features, well maintained. The room was modern yet fitting with the style of the house. The common areas in the hotel are lush and has so many different areas to sit and enjoy the view. The staff were so kind to us and our dog - I would definitely come back!
Clean and comfortable accommodation. Attention to detail in the property excellent. Lovely welcome, great hosts. Good location, easy walk into Fowey. Quality breakfast with great choice. Stayed in many bed and breakfasts but this certainly is with the best.
I liked ghe hospitality, warm welcome. I felt at home.
What a wonderful couple with 3 beautiful dogs .
Loved my ensuite room,ao clean and loved the furnitures/style.
The area was amazing and very close to Fowey Town and ReadyMoney cove .
The staff were all happy and very helpful, this gave the hotel a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
Good views from the bar and restaurant across the harbour. Rooms at the front of the hotel also have great views across the harbour.
View from the room was amazing. Location of the hotel was within walking distance (5mins) into town with pubs and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Decor of the hotel was superb, very classy.
Beautiful hotel. The classic room was much larger than we expected. Breakfast was great and staff very attentive and friendly. Quick but very steep walk to Fowey and back but got easier each time we did it!
Nice hotel, beautiful room with high ceilings and comfortable bed, clean, suitable for family (family room was excellent), great pool and friendly staff, gateway to rest of Cornwall
Great location in the heart of Fowey. On site restaurant is Michelin star. 5-course dinner menu had fantastic choices and flavors. First-rate complimentary breakfast choices.
Really great pub and accommodation, right in the centre of Fowey with a fantastic view of the harbour. Good breakfast and super friendly staff. Would recommend.
