The Swan Hotel and Spa, hotel in Newby Bridge

Located within the scenic Lake District National Park, 7.5 mi from Laurel & Hardy Museum, The Swan Hotel and Spa features a children's playground and views of the river.

The property was well placed, on a river for which we had a lake view which was lovely. Spa facility was really nice although almost cost as much as proper, don’t really think it was worth £50pp at all unless treatments already included

Great place to base for lake district and south lakes.

Great place to base for lake district and south lakes. Onsite spa relaxing but need to book as limited spaces per session. However use of another pool and sauna is in hotel for guests. Parking difficult at busy times but remember to register with hotel so do not get parking a fine. ate breakfast in hotel made to order as well as cold buffet with lots of choice. Very enjoyable visit.

A pleasantly situated hotel on the river.

A pleasantly situated hotel on the river. Our room was large and overall comfy, with a great bed. However, we found the hotel overpriced particularly foodwise which we felt was of standard quality. We had numerous negative feelings and left a day earlier. The hotel did refund a days stay which was good of them. My husband and I have much experience of hotels, Food service, customer service and felt this hotel could be so much better if they revert to first class service. I would not choose to stay there again, sadly.

We used a car so can't comment on public transport but it's perfectly situated just a couple of miles from the southern tip of lake windermere so you can go left or right and access all of the Lake district with ease.

The only negative was that the lakeside allowed Dogs in the hotel. I love dogs but think when you go to an expensive hotel you don’t need dogs staying in the bedrooms. The Huntsman pub was very good for food. While we were eating our meal there were 3 dogs running around the pub and not under control. This was bad owners not bad dogs. Beautiful location

Modern rooms with great facilities (ironing board, tv in room, tea/coffee, biscuits, shower gel, shampoo etc). Very clean and spacious rooms. Large modern bathroom. The bar and restaurant is lovely and modern. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the food looked and smelt great. The views were beautiful of the lake on the other side of the road and it was very quiet. Staff were friendly. My husband and little 8 yo boy made use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Very Covid secure and would definitely recommend. We would stay here again.

Nice cosy B&B 20 min drive from Bowness-on-Windemere. The room was warm, which was a relief after getting wet during the day. Small bathroom but fine for a weekend. There is only a big overhead shower, no handheld one (personal preference). Colin was super nice and we were able to change our BF time to early morning so we could make the most of the day. He offers a good choice for BF with various cereals, musli, fruit, toast and English BF. Parking is easy on the property. I'd stay again.

We have visited the Lake District on a number of occasions but not at the southern part of Lake Windermere. The location is great just a short drive from busy Windermere on the river in the South. Quiet but accessible to walks and other places of interest. The hotel and staff were lovely we ate and drank at the restaurant and brassiere used the spa and indulged ourselves with a beauty treatment. All well recommended.

A lovely setting, very calm and peaceful. The hotel has made the most of the original buildings and has a good atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room had a fabulous view over the river. Breakfasts were cooked to order and the dinner menu was good. Everything we had was delicious and well presented. Pool and spa facilities were clean and easily accessible. Would highly recommend - and will go back.

Our stay was lovely! couldnt recommend Newby Bridge Caraven Park enough. After needing to change the date due to the loss of my Father the staff were so helpful. The caravan was lovely spacious and modern and the little touches of the bag of treats/toys for our dog and the bottles of prosecco on arrival were extremely thoughtful. This is the 2nd time i have stayed and will definately be back.

Lovely staff and cute hotel all round in lovely surroundings. Breakfast was delicious and loads available. Nice room, a little dated but clean and spacious and good to have tea and coffee facilities which were refilled every morning. Bathroom was nice, though shower could have had better pressure and temperature. It was generally a little warm in the room overnight but with the windows open ok.

From start to finish the staff were all so accommodating. They couldn’t do enough to help. I was given a later check out to allow me to use the pool facilities before checking out. We really enjoyed our stay! It was lovely to receive a warm welcome and the Christmas card and chocolates were a lovely touch. It was great as well to have access to the local Spa hotel, we really enjoyed the facilities. The cottage itself was very cosy and we enjoyed the local scenery a lot.
