The owners were very friendly, and the location is excellent for exploring the area. The food was excellent, and I would highly recommend the Craven Heifer to anyone. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely return in the future.

Great location, spacious cottage, good parking. A lovely patio garden to the rear, well maintained however unable to sit outside due to neighbours dogs constantly barking every time we went outside or the door was open.

There is plenty to see and do in the area. good choice of supermarkets close by, great for self caterers We ate at the Waters Edge on site and longlands hotel, The Lunesdale Arms near Kirkby Lonsdale. We visited Levens Hall and Sizergh Castle, both worth a visit, however people with mobility problems would struggle with the many stairs in both of them. The gardens at both places are magnificent.

There are plenty of places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a big supermarket, Booths, where you can get all the groceries if you wish to cook.
We had breakfast at Elodie's which was big and inexpensive. Dinner at Avanti was excellent with good food and service.

It's in an ideal spot to visit the south lakes and towns of Lancaster and Morecambe. We actually went to a funeral at Beetham crematorium which is just 6 miles north. Not far from M6 so a got stop off point to break your journey north .

The Longlands is not in the town of Carnforth, it is located at Tewitfield Marina nearby.
Tewitfield is in the countryside, close to the Lancaster canal with some great walks. I can imagine that there is a lot going on in the school holidays and weekends, alongside the marina with a good atmosphere.
It is in close proximity of the M6 and A6 making it accessible to the South Lakes and Morecambe bay.
We drove through Carnforth it is a busy town on the A6

Booked the Station Hotel as a birthday treat for my mum and friend. From start to finish to finish they were well looked after by the Wonderful Stephen. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. From check in to dinner service and even breakfast service he was there, a real nice gentleman. Thank you Stephen and your staff, for making my mums stay a thoroughly enjoyable birthday weekend.
The New Inn was comfort cosy style downstairs, greeted by friendly and informative staff, showed to our room by lovely smiling face. Room was huge!! So much room, so clean and had everything we needed plus more. The bath was incredible. Breakfast was good - fresh orange juice and strong coffee - can’t go wrong. The best hotel stay I have ever had - completely faultless
Lovely, quiet location on the canal at Tewitfield Marina. Close to local amenities in Carnforth and the M6 motorway. Local hotel was excellent for food. Close to the Southern Lakes and Yorkshire dales.
