Great BandB in a wonderful location. The owners were great people who really looked after their guests and made them feel very welcome. Made lots of suggestions on what to see on the way there and organised a great restaurant for dinner.

Kirsteen was a friendly and welcoming host, the room was very comfortable and modern with a great shower. The property was beautiful, with fabulous views across the water from the lovely communal and breakfast area. The continental breakfast was a welcome treat after too many cooked breakfasts! Fresh fruit, cereals, juices, coffee and cheeses were delicious.
Kirsteen was also a mine of information about where to go next and with local advice.
We had a delicious seafood meal at Peet's in the evening as well.
This was the best stop we had on our NC500 trip, and would love to come back.

I stayed 3 nights in one of these cute little pods. They were perfect for a solo traveler – cozy, great size, and with all the necessities (including microwave, kettle, stove, & oven). Great location near the beach and for exploring the area.

Great location and staff. Staff were attentive and nice, super informative and accommodating. Individual curtained rooms allowed for sufficient privacy for a shared room. Very comfy and very warm for a autumn stay. Good social areas with a wood-burner meant it felt very sheltered from the elements. Beds were surprisingly comfy for bunk beds, shower was great. Very safe.
Nice small town (village?), with everything you need.
Nice small town (village?), with everything you need. Shops, restaurants, a bank is coming 2 times a week on wheels, but ATM and paying by card is no novelty there. ;-) Nice people, everyone is greating everyone. Best for hiking the surroundings, I will sure come back for sure.

A small coastal town well worth using as a base for a few days to explore the west coast. A variety of restaurants, coffee shops and tourists shops to explore. A great location for walking tracks and some beautiful beaches. Beware the single track roads, some of them they can be narrow in spots! but every seems to drive slowly which is good :) We were there in mid-September and the northern lights were visible one evening, a lovely bonus.

A small fishing village but with all the amenities - petrol, snack food, restaurants - that any traveller could wish for. Close to the famous Suilven mountain that is accessible via a moorland path and then some climbing. I ate at Delilah's and was not disappointed with either the food - delicious burger - and drink - craft lager. The harbour looks too big, but I gather they do unlad some large quantities of fish here. Not many midges (late August) but often cloud-covered. However, one has to make the most of the weather and predict when the rain will come. All the shops and other amenities within easy walking distances and many re-cycling stations.

Lochinver is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Nestled on the beautiful north western coast and surrounded by spectacular mountains and lochs with an endless array hiking trails to enjoy. The coastal views are amazing as there are rocky outcrops and islands of various shapes and sizes. Self catering is the best option but there are a number of eating places in Lochinver with a good range of options. Road links are surprisingly good given the location but if you want to go off and explore there are many smaller single track roads to take you on an adventure just watch out for the many mobile homes and converted vans that you may encounter.

The space in the Smithy was delightful and very comfortable. We could have stayed in all day enjoying the wood burning stove and the array of books and CDs! Everything was provided for two people, and the beds were the best we experienced in our 10 day visit to the Scottish highlands!

Lovely little waterside/fishing village, although unfortunately we were a bit early (mid-March) for the season and a lot of places hadn't opened up at the time. the local pie shop was amazing - fantastic pies and a great selection too.
Caren and Dave were extremely kind and helpful hosts. Very easygoing and interesting to talk to. Both know a lot about the area, and Dave gave us great sightseeing recommendations over breakfast (thank you for the suggestions, Dave)! The B&B is very comfortable and inviting. Our room (with on-suite bathroom) was also extremely clean. Breakfast was our favorite of our trip. Lochinver is a beautiful town - the Davar is about a 15-20 minute easy walk into the main part of town. We would stay here again.
Lovely spacious accommodation. We were lucky enough to get the 2 bedroom self contained 'wing' of the main house. Views over Lochinver were great. John was a lovely, friendly host. The kitchen was well equipped, the house was warm and the supplied continental breakfast was huge, plenty of choice and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. Can highly recommend Caisteal Liath house for anyone looking for something a bit more personal and comfortable than a hotel. It's also great value for money.
Lovely location on the edge of Lochinver with a great view of the bay and mountain (see photo). It’s about 5 minutes drive down the hill to the centre of town, which is blessed with several great eateries.
The house has generous rooms and a very well equipped kitchen with very comfortable sofas in the living room. The bed is very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. We especially loved the collection of local walks they’ve put together for guests.
Fabulous room with excellent dining options for dinner & breakfast. Had a fabulous meal at dinner overlooking the sun setting over the bay with an added surprise of local deers walking around too. Great wi-fi speed for streaming. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. A very relaxing stay that felt longer than the one night. Scrambled eggs with salmon for breakfast was one of the best I have ever had - very fresh and high quality salmon.
wonderful location on the water.
Kirsteen our host was so lovely and very welcoming.
she gave us good suggestions on what to do and see while we there.
the breakfast she provided was excellent
so many options and offered a huge range of gluten free options as well.
the fruit was so fresh it tasted like it was just picked.
absolutely wonderful. can definitely recommend to stay here if your are in Lochinver.
We LOVED our stay at Ardmore House and really didn’t want to leave! We arrived at sundown and were greeted by Jo and a doe with her little fawn. Our room was very clean and charming - as was the common area/breakfast room. Jo offered us a delicious breakfast and even shared some of her recipes. We left wishing we had more time to explore the area and stay at Ardmore House.
This place is adorable. So cozy with just the amount of space and amenities we needed. Great location just minutes from town with a lovely view of the Loch from the hot tub. Really appreciated being able to do a load of laundry in the shed behind the cabin. Dinner at Delilah's nearby was the best meal of our trip around the NC500 thus far.
The cabin was exceptional, the views breathtaking - could not fault a thing!! The hosts were so welcoming and always there if you needed anything! They gave great tips on local walks - the walk from Achmelvich to Lochinver is a must!! Loved everything about our trip ❤️
Mary and Mark were incredibly helpful and welcoming both before and during our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and their daughters restaurant/food van served fabulous local seafood. We climbed a few local peaks and had a wonderful stay in Lochinver.
Fantastic lodge in a beautiful location. Unreal views across lochinver from the hot tub, with extremely convenient walking routes to Achmelvich Beach. Roy and Suzy are brilliant hosts, with their lodges catering for your every need. Will definitely be back!
Our second visit to the Hideaway, this time for Hogmanay. The cabin was cosy, clean and wonderfully quiet. The hot tub is great fun with views over Lochinver. Lots of great walks nearby and beautiful Scottish scenery.
A beautiful cottage in a fabulous area. Had everything we needed for a great stay. The log fire was great, it was a perfect place, away from it all! we warmed our pies and mash from the local lochinver larder.
The location is superb, with an elevated view over lochinver.
The Studio is extremely well equipped and tastefully decorated. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Fantastic location, warm, cosy pod. Great views of Suilven whilst sitting in the hot tub. The pod had everything you’d need. About a 5 min drive into Lochinver with some great restaurants.
Kirsteen was an wnthusiastic enthusiastic and attentive host. The position was beautiful and the room comfortable with its own sitting area. Free parking and WiFi.
