The property is beautiful, the breakfast was rich and the room was comfortable.
The property can be managed much better with the right staff.
Just outside the Castle of Monteriggioni, Albergo Casalta is on Via Francigena in the historic village of Strove. This friendly family-run hotel is set in an ancient Lombard fortress with stone walls....

We stayed here while hiking the Via Francigena. The hotel is right along the path and very easy to find. We celebrated my 40th birthday with dinner at the hotel restaurant - I highly recommend eating here! Breakfast was also amazing, as was the staff. The owners were so thoughtful and helped us arrange travel to Monteriggioni and then to Siena. I highly recommend and would stay here again. Hope to be back!

Really wonderful staff. Family-owned and family-run establishment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very clean rooms. Very comfortable.
Staff: we were walking the Via Francigena, and wanted to depart early, before dawn. The host was super accommodating and also got up early, and offered us coffee, etc.
Definitely one of the two best places we stayed in during our 3 weeks.

Beautiful peaceful setting close to Siena and charming neighbouring towns. Everything about the stay was 5 stars- food was amazing, the hosts were accomodating, the room was clean (and serviced every day) and they offered everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfasts were a particular highlight!

I liked that the property was on a farm and that it was environmentally friendly and organic. Being near Seina meant the property was placed centrally and we were able to drive to the likes of Florence, Siena, Lucca and Arezzo all within slightly over one hour and yet be in a beautiful peaceful location for our evenings.

We had an absolutey amazing stay at Borgo San Luigi.
We had an absolutey amazing stay at Borgo San Luigi. The property is kept very clean with beautiful views, Tuscan trees, a pool and large lawns with cut grass to stroll or to relax in one of the many lounge chairs. When we arrived, we were met outside by Jasmine who was so welcoming and friendly. We knew immediately that we were going to enjoy our visit. She was so helpful with any request or questions we had and also to help with recommendations to visit farms and wineries in the area. The breakfast buffet was large with everything you would ever expect from a world class buffet and had a great atmosphere when getting the day started. Mario, our waiter in the restaurant, took great care of us. He is very professional, friendly and helped us with the delicious food and wine selections during lunch and dinner. Jhonny served us drinks around the pool during the day and at night he served in the lounge area which has a pool table and a fireplace. He was professional, friendly and also very funny. The owner introduced himself. He was always on site, making sure that all was clean and running smoothly. First Class all the way!!! What a great stay we had, we didn't want to leave and we can't wait to go back.

Romantic, ideal for people who want to rest in idyllic location surrounded by nature. Olive groves, hills and castle - like taken from the movies made in Tuscany region. Great for people who travel with pet. They organize weddings as well, so if you plan to get married in future I highly recommend this place.

It is a very nice, compact, attractive and historic little town. Good information on it available from the Information office. However, it can easily be seen in 2 hours or less (not counting local meals, etc).

Lovely place to visit / stay.
Lovely place to visit / stay. Some great restaurants, reasonable prices, a couple of interesting shops. Great self service bar where you can buy beers form the fridge, Prosecco and al fresco bread, ham and cheese sharing platters.
Stefano was very accommodating and helpful, and the place was lovely. Very clean, in a historic building located in the center of the place with a very comfortable bed. We had a great stay for one night, and we almost overslept!
You can access free parking provided by the host, but we messed up and parked at the main parking - not much of a problem, though. It costs EUR 7 for 24h. By 11 AM, you can drive your car right to the front of the hotel to pick up your stuff, which is very convenient.
We stayed at Castle Pietraio for the first time almost 20 years ago with our then 5 and 8 year old children. That experience was so wonderful and certainly influenced our life-long appetite for similar historic accommodations. We were so delighted to come back to the Castle with our now grown children and experience its charm, comfortable accommodations, and perfect location. This property is such a great value and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to travel around Tuscany.
This is an exceptional family-run hotel with magnificent views across an iconic Tuscan landscape - vines, farmers' fields and a wonderful wooded hill across the valley, together with the castellated walls of Monteriggioni in the distance. The food is delicious and authentic, the staff super friendly and helpful. The pool is fab. One of the best and most memorable stays of my life. And that's not even mentioning their own classic wine which is of tremendous quality.
We loved the space of the accomodation and the option to cook and have our own private outdoor eating area.
The swimming pool was a godsend in the heatwave .
We enjoyed 5 nights where we travelled to villages nearby and it was a peaceful sanctuary to return to.
We ate dinner at the restaurant twice and both nights the meals were really good.
Staff were lovely and we would recommend this villa to explore the beautiful area of Tuscany.
This is a really lovely place! Picture book Tuscany - a beautiful house with a lot of character, stunning gardens, a cute little dog and a great pool. The owners and staff were so sweet and turned our short stay into such a nice experience. Great breakfast with homegrown fruits. It's a perfect location for visits of Siena and Monteriggioni (where you can spent an evening to remember, with amazing local food and beautiful sunsets).
We loved the breakfast each morning and even when we had to leave early the next day (before breakfast started), Giorgia gave it to us the evening before so we didn't miss out!
Giorgia was so wonderful, as well as the rest of the staff, they provided such a personal experience.
The grounds were stunning, our room had a beautiful view of Monteriggioni and the vineyard. Would 100% stay here again
This is a charming and delightful hotel in the small but picturesque village of Stove. The staff were very attentive and the food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. Our room was beautifully presented and spacious with a large comfortable bed and a sofa on the mezzanine floor. We stayed one night whilst walking the VF and wished it could have been longer.
The hosts were lovely; the location is really easy to find with the car and the hosts are waiting for you at the door. The breakfast with the view of Monteriggioni is incomparable with anything we've experienced. The garden, the pool, the room, bed, shower, really everything is super well taken care of and thought of for the comfort of the guests.
A wonderful cosy place on a quiet rural road just minutes from Monteriggioni. Lots of character and very spacious, clean and comfortable. Parking immediately outside the accommodation. Immediate access on foot to the Via Francegena and a short drive to many other trails. Owner very helpful and friendly.
Everything! Central to Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti, and Florence. Some of the places we drove to for the day. We loved having the great swimming pool on site to relax and cool off, the lovely restaurant with amazing views all around the property, and the beauty of the castle itself.
The hosts are really nice, and the place is sparkling clean. The apartment is cozy and has everything you need. It's situated very convinient in a quiet place, but you also have an express road at about 1-1.5km away, that you can use to get around quickly.
The house was beautiful and immaculately clean. The hosts were so kind, helpful and generous. The location is also perfectly centered among many of the most interesting sites in that part of Tuscany. I would love to stay at Casa Santa Giulia again.
An incredible piece of heaven in Tuscany. Such beautiful and peaceful scenery. Incredible wines. Amazing hosts and the apartment was so comfy and beautiful. The property has a playground which my 2 year old loved and adored!
Beautiful, comfortable and clean room in the middle of the old borgo medioevale. The restaurant associated with the hotel was delicious as well. Dogs are welcome.
