The location was top-notch! It had wonderful vintage vibes throughout. The restaurant featured an incredible view of English Bay—though the menu looked amazing, we unfortunately didn't have time to eat there. The room was spotlessly clean and we felt completely safe. The staff were so friendly and helpful—especially Katie B, who was wonderful to deal with. We are already planning our next trip to explore the beautiful surrounding area more.

This is a hidden GEM!! This newly renovated hotel located in the beautiful 'West End' is an ideal location for a 3 day stay, close to restaurants, shopping, exploring the stunning Sea Wall and enjoying this area of the city. The hotel also has easy to access underground parking. The rooms were modern, inviting, sparkly clean and complete with special touches. The hotel staff were always available and went above and beyond making you feel welcome.

Spacious rooms, well aerated, good views, comfortable beds, peaceful and quiet. Location is perfect. Many restaurants around with price friendly groceries. Easy access to the train station up at Barrud, can walk down to the water front.... Oh...the staff, so friendly, professional and ever willing to help. They gave me an umbrella on a rainy day when I was heading out further downtown! Highly recommended!

At the end of Denman Street which has a vibrant cafe scene...

At the end of Denman Street which has a vibrant cafe scene and a cute Irish pub. The art on the foreshore is captivating. The statues in various poses were something I could enjoy. My aunt taste is for reality rather than surrealism and modernism.

Staff at reception were always friendly and helpful. Room was big. Two queen sized beds were a bonus. Bathroom was what we needed. Parking was easy to access and relatively cheap. Hotel is in a good location - English Bay has a wide range of restaurants and good bus service to other parts of the city. Good tourist hotel, even if it looks and feels a bit worn out.

Loved the location, the size of the room, comfort of the beds, and Abode serves pretty good food (just wish breakfast was included in cost of the room). We did have a view of English Bay/Burrard Inlet, albeit in the distance.

We had a wonderful stay at English Bay Hotel. The location is unbeatable—just steps from English Bay Beach, Stanley Park, and countless cafés, restaurants, and shops. It was the perfect base for exploring Vancouver on foot. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and offered everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Waking up and being able to walk along the waterfront each morning was truly a highlight.

The Hotel is in an ideal location close to English Bay and Granville Street. Davie Street is okay with a lot of different places to eat and drink. The hotel room was like an apartment and had a separate kitchen and sitting room area, and was very spacious.

The Sylvia Hotel's location is outstanding. Situated directly on English Bay with breathtaking ocean views and just steps from Stanley Park, it offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Vancouver. Waking up to the waterfront and watching the sunsets made our stay truly memorable.

Great hotel for a stay in YVR; rooms are well appointed and extra clean; every detail are thought through; staff is awesome, courteous and efficient; the area surrounding the hotel is full of restaurants, grocery stores, many amenities that one might need when traveling; Stanley Park, English Bay, the waterfront are just a few steps away and the bustling Robson street shopping area is just close enough to be practical and far enough to avoid noises and disturbances;
