This was one of the most magnificent hotels we’ve ever stayed in and easily the best on our most recent European vacation. Everything about this hotel is wonderful! The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, the room was big and perfectly appointed with a wonderful balcony overlooking the centre of Zermatt and the glorious Matterhorn peak making for the most picturesque holiday photos. The bathroom is excellent with a dreamy shower and even a two in one toilet that rinsed your behind with warm water (much better than a bidet which we can never work out in Italy!) Breakfast was also delicious and served in the delightful, old world charm dining room that also serves as the Lusi Brasserie in the evening, (and make sure you book that ahead for dinner because that was also exceptional!) And don’t miss the pool, sauna, steam room and ice room! Just fantastic! All staff were of the highest quality and in particular front desk staff member Julia was also wonderful organising our departure transport and answered all of our questions during our stay. Highly recommend this superb hotel and we can’t wait to return!

This hotel exceeded all expectations — truly exceptional in every way. The service was outstanding, with every member of staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome; nothing was ever too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality, and delicious options. Returning from skiing each day to a thoughtful little surprise was such a lovely and memorable touch. The spa was the perfect way to unwind and really completed the experience. The entire hotel was spotless and beautifully maintained. Without a doubt, this was a five-star stay from start to finish!

Extremely welcoming, first you get a welcome drink on the beautiful sun terrace looking directly at the Matterhorn. Then you get a tour of the hotel. All the staff were so friendly. We booked the sky light room, so no outside view or balcony but it was still outstanding. There's so much outside space to sit and view the mountains so we didn't feel it was necessary. The spa..... no words other than wow! We booked this place to relax after a week trekking and it was perfect.

Everything! We are already planning another tip hopefully next year and would love to stay in this hotel again. They were very accommodating to it being my partners birthday and even surprised us all with a cake and the happy birthday song at tea time!!! Beautiful place with the Matterhorn overlooking the village of Zermatt. Skiing is the best as the region is vast and the three ski areas are interconnected. They continue investing in ski lift facilities. There is a vast choice of restaurants and cafes. Only watch out is the high prices of everything. Ski lifts prices are dynamic so if it is sunny and a weekend they charge you more. Hotels are overpriced so that one pays the price of a 4-5 star hotel for a 3 star "Garni" or Inn. Restaurants are 20-30% more expensive than a major city in Switzerland. Budget wise, a family of 4 will pay on average Chf 1,000 per day in Zermatt, including hotel, ski lifts, and meals.

We only had 1 day in Zermatt for hiking but we were...

We only had 1 day in Zermatt for hiking but we were recommended to look in Tasch for a place to stay for the night as it was a more economical choice than Zermatt. We found an excellent hotel, right across from the train station that exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect place to stay after a full day of hiking in Zermatt. We weren't able to explore Tasch too much, so would love to go back!

Very nice aan idyllic place if you like to relax and hike. Great place to roam around and visit other places from there. Zermatt was a bit disappointing, but it was also off season. Nice for an afternoon, but beter to stay in Randa.

Our experience of Blatten was amazing! We were blown out by this little gem! We went up the cable car, had some drinks, came down and some more by the restaurant across the street. From our cabin we walked down to a restaurant and had a food experience of a lifetime!

We've skiied all over the US and Canada.

We've skiied all over the US and Canada. This was our first European ski experience. The town of Zermatt is as good or better than any ski town (breck, Banff, Park City, etc). The skiing was great - early season so the Italian side was better. Highly recommend getting the 5 day lift tix with access to both Swiss and Italian slopes. We were there over Christmas - super high season - and never had to wait more than a few minutes to cue for a lift/ gondola/ train. Many shopping and dining options in Zermatt. The car-free nature of the town made for a lovely experience!

Zermatt is a beautiful town with a variety of shops, and restaurants. There are countless hiking trails, opportunities for skiing, sledding, ice skating, and much more. Regardless of if you're coming to ski or just to relax and explore, you can easily fill 4 or 5 days with activities.

The prices are much more reasonable than in Zermatt, and it is practically the last village you can reach by car. So in my opinion it is very good to sleep in Täsch and travel by train to Zermatt. The trains are every 20 minutes.
