Central Liverpool is brimming with character and culture—...
Central Liverpool is brimming with character and culture—from its architectural landmarks like Royal Albert Dock, St. George’s Hall, and the Royal Liver Building, to its compact layout that makes everything within easy walking distance. The city pulses with energy: plenty of museums, galleries, theaters, music venues, and nightlife options that cater to all tastes. Especially fans of The Beatles and vibrant nightlife. Areas like the Baltic Triangle and Bold Street offer creative, bohemian atmospheres with street art, indie bars, eclectic shops, and food spots that feel alive and authentic. Because the city centre is so lively and compact, it can feel overwhelmingly busy at times. Weekends and event nights bring significant crowds, which might wear on quieter travellers. Accommodation can get pricey or booked out quickly, especially during Premier League matches or concerts at the M&S Bank Arena, so planning ahead is key. Additionally, while recent regeneration has been impressive, some public spaces and older buildings would benefit from ongoing maintenance to restore their full former glory.Guest review byAlexander - 6.0
Looking really run down. Not a lot of Tourists.
Looking really run down. Not a lot of Tourists. A lot of things are closed. Splash Swimming pool needs to be booked in advance and its the only attraction really. Such a shame it doesn't seem the county council is looking after the place.Guest review byVictoriaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The best hotel ever.
The best hotel ever. I've been in several hotels but honestly this was the most generous hotel I have ever seen. There were always plenty of room refreshments available. The shampoo and other consumables were all the best quality unlike other hotels. The breakfast was the best I've seen with plenty of options all fresh and scrumptious. It was my son's birthday during our stay and they made us the happiest surprise 2 times: once at breakfast time with a lovely decorated table and lots of generous gifts and once again in the room with lovely decoration and plenty of refreshments as gifts. As said, they made us the best holiday. I can't thank the staff enough. Swimming pool is amazingly clean the area and changing rooms were very very very clean and dry!Guest review byZahra - 8.0

John Lennon airport is a compact airport without the stress of a huge airport. There is a W. H. Smith and a coffee shop in departures open from 3.15 a.m. for early flights and clearly marked check in desks.Guest review byPamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed at Knowsley as it was much more cost effective than 2 nights in similar accommodation in Liverpool. We were down for the Everton Man City game. Unfortunately neither of us drive and as buses don't Service the hotel at the weekend meant we had to rely on taxis. For anyone who drives the location is not a problem though. Visited a few of the local hostelries. Copperpot, Derby Arms and Vikings Landing all were very friendly places with good service. Prices for drinks are favourable compared to other cities.Guest review byBryanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Heswall is a friendly little town, with a good selection of small shops and eateries. Please do visit the book shop! From the outside it looks like any other shop, but step inside and you will be bowled over with what's on offer, which even includes a cafe. Heswall offers easy access to other destinations on The Wirrall, including the delightful West Kirby. It is a great spot to explore places further afield, such as North Wales, Chester and Liverpool.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Very clean . Beautiful surroundings. Comfortable.
Very clean . Beautiful surroundings. Comfortable. Not very warm especially dining room had to eat evening meal with coats on . Evening bar staff refused us a cup of coffee having already had one and then sent another person to their room to make one in their room and bring it back to their company sitting in the bar . And they were elderly. So not very good . Bar could of stayed open a little longer .... admittedly it was about 10.30pm but when you have been out and you need a nightcap in hotel even if just a cuppa not good .Guest review byMichelle - 8.0

i enjoy viewing architecture & art, so the old buildings whether occupied or abandoned I find interesting to check out. I was total self sufficient with my food so did not eat out locally. Birkenhead & its adjacent districts are fairly well sign posted. Satnav is good. but without postal codes, mistakes can be made with journeys to wrong places.Guest review byMARTIN WEBBUnited Kingdom
