- From $233.07 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,990 reviewsWOW when you see the location. The hotel sits on a side of a hill that overlooks the lake and lake's valley. View is absolutely magnificent. THe same we thought of the hotel - just as if we transferred to the beginning of the 20th century. TYpical mountaneers style, with lots of timber, evening chill coming from the lake and that special mist that sets when the sun goes down. Our room was cute, cozy, stylish and very comfortable. We both adored the seat in the window sill with cussions and a tea tray. Breakfast was a feast to the mouth and to the eyes since the tables overlook the lake. Stay there at least a couple of nights to get a better impressions and feed yourself with the great atmosphere.Guest review byMike OkonPoland
- From $167.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 771 reviewsThis gave my wife and I a chance to stay in a proper quirky Manor House. What was surprising was the award winning Indian Restaurant operating also in the house, which has been voted in the top ten in UK. The food and service was amazing and the hallway gallery with the awards and press clippings for the restaurant and the history of the house back to the 1700's. Our room was huge with a beautiful bathroom and very comfortable bed and big windows to open. We slept well. This has certainly been a highlight of our trip from Australia. The staff were just great, friendly and chatty and Ollie the cat at reception thinks he is the owner of the Manor.Guest review byGeoffreyAustralia

Right next to the Beach and Boardwalk. It was walking distance to Cafes and Restaurants and shops. The Food was very tasty and we loved having Breakfast every morning in the Sun Room facing the Ocean. The room was spacious and very comfortable and they provided soft Robes and slippers. The Tea and Coffee set up also had Hot Chocolate and cookies. Delicious!! The Staff was wonderfully pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay there again and again!! Thank you!Guest review byKimberlyUnited States
- From $169.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,025 reviewsWe arrived late, almost at midnight, without a reservation. The night staff were helpful, but they didn’t have enough authority to fully assist us. It would be better if the hotel trained the night staff to handle last-minute guests for the benefit of both the guests and the hotel. It wasn’t their fault—they did their best. Thank you, Garett, for being kind and helpful. The breakfast was great—I loved the sausage—and the service flowed smoothly. Also, the location is excellent—just a minute’s walk to the railway station.Guest review byBoonyanuchThailand

Making arrangements from here in the USA was a challenge, the staff at the Trearrdur was outstanding, they were engaged, responsive, and extremely helpful. Once we arrived the staff on site was always available and the room they provided us was set up beautifully.Guest review byPeterUnited States

We had dinner at Le Dragon Rouge and we all declared it was the best food we had during our entire trip! Kudos to the chef. Likewise the staff were friendly and helpful. Cardiff Bay is lovely a great regeneration project, although there is quite a lot more building going on. Cardiff Castle is well worth a visit. Local buses and trains are excellent. St Fagans is well worth the bus trip, we could really have done with having 2 days there to look round, and it's FREE!Guest review byPrice - 10.0
This is a super seaside town.
This is a super seaside town. There are two beaches - a quiet one on West Shore and the main beach with its long promenade and the pier. The hotels around the curved bay are beautifully designed and all kept in good condition. Behind the hotels is Mostyn Street with an excellent collection of national and local shops - a very vibrant high street which is unusual these days. The choice of places to eat is amazing. Llandudno is also a great base from which to explore North Wales.Guest review byLorraineUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Swansea is on the coastline, it should be enjoyable.
Swansea is on the coastline, it should be enjoyable. I didn't see any beaches though, just brown sand and lots of rocks by the ocean. Every time I stepped out and I only went to a Tesco superstore near the Marina, I was followed and hounded by clueless and delusional creeps selling drugs, which is illegal. They would stink up the areas I was walking by with Marijuana; it was disgusting! I wish I had visited the Swansea Marina, the ruins from the Castle and the waterfall. The bad guys were everywhere including in the places I stayed. I wanted to buy a new handbag and some electronics but I felt nauseated at the prospect of going out, so I didn't buy anything. From one of the apartments I stayed, I could see people walking to participate in the Scavenger Hunts they had during the summer. There was also an event at a parking lot across the street that I decided not to go for safety reasons. Traveling is certainly no longer the fun it used to be.Guest review byEva ReginaUnited States - 10.0
Picturesque place with lots of history.
Picturesque place with lots of history. Quirky independent shops. Clean beaches. Nice boat trip to Caldey Island. I saw a red squirrel! Don't miss the fresh crab sandwiches on the harbour. We will definitely visit again.Guest review byKevinUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A nice place with an excellent shopping centre.
A nice place with an excellent shopping centre. Disappointed with the lack of green areas in the centre. People, including shop staff, were very nice and helpful. However it was difficult to find somewhere to eat what we like (traditional English meals). Ended up with tasteless junk takeaway. We did not bring transport but did not need to go anywhere that was not walkable, other than we would have liked to have found a suitable eatery nearer the city centre, because we have a dog and even if allowed, he does not travel well on buses. We are not a young couple and it looked like there was little for us to do in the evenings.Guest review byTomUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful view, captivating scenery with local hikes and walks available. I loved the ride on the steam train from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge. As a solo traveller for the first time I was nervous about eating out so enjoyed fish and chips on the pier instead.Guest review bySuzyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a...
Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a steep sided valley. Several camping / outdoor shops but don't expect bargains as the prices are similar or even slightly higher than elsewhere due to the "captive audience" of people in the area to enjoy the outdoors. Many eating out options, most of which are also hotels and offer broadly similar menus of "pub grub" / "grill" type food. Also a very popular Indian restaurant and a couple of Pizza places, and one Tapas. The Chinese was closed when we visited. If you prefer to self cater there is a Spar and a Londis with a decent bakery within the Spar. We visited at the end of the school holiday season and we thought all the food places were surprisingly quiet except the Pizza place in the station, the curry house and the Royal Oak hotel. There also didn't seem to be any sign of "nightlife" to speak of, even on Friday night (maybe people are too tired after outdoor activities?). Some establishments only opened Friday and Saturday nights. Its a good base for the area being at the junction of two main road routes. You can also walk straight out of the village with several way marked routes of varying difficulty, or just doing your own map reading. You can easily spend a day browsing the shops and cafes and taking in the pretty Pont-y-Pair and river rapids. However by day two, you will probably be ready to explore further.Guest review byBenjaminUnited Kingdom - 10.0
