My recent stay at Serene Escape exceeded all expectations and left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for a truly memorable experience. The accommodation itself was impeccably clean and tastefully furnished, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the host. They went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and that I felt welcome throughout my stay. I look forward to returning in the future and experiencing the same level of hospitality once again.

The facilities were really good, breakfast was delicious and the bedroom/bathroom was super clean and cozy. It was a wonderful area to hike and I have enjoyed it a lot. The owners were absolutely fantastic people, super kind! However I thought dinner was a bit expensive, but it did taste amazing!

The property had a homely welcome feel, the bed was a good size and the mattress was the most comfortable I had slept on during times away from home. The property has a rear entrance to the parking spaces which is ideal with luggage.

The first room, which claimed to be a Deluxe Double (!) was very poor. You could not walk around the bed. It was definitely not 4 star. I had to pay quite a bit extra to get a room where both people could get out of the bed without waking each other. By the look of the reviews below, people often end up having to upgrade and pay more, to get a room anything close to 4 star! After paying extra for the new club room it was better but there was an overflow of rainwater outside the window which dripped all night and day which was like some sort of water torture. The bed was hard and uncomfortable too. Despite letting you know in advance that we are vegan no provision was made in the room for alternative milk and tiny chocolate alternatives etc. that you provide for non-vegans! We ended up going to a shop to buy our own milk for use within the room, as reception just said no we don't have anything else! We asked for the room to be serviced after the first night, yet no additional white sugar was provided for tea for the second day. There was no equivalent vegan provision for breakfast. It was very much that’ll do with no thought or changes made to support guests who have different needs. Also it was very noisy. Our room was under the dining room and the noise level on that last morning was really bad. There was no heating in the bathroom so it was like an ice cave with no radiator and no window to extract steam. To top all of this off, on check out on our last day, we were asked by a lady receptionist if I would leave a review and mention her name specifically despite never having had any contact with her before, or even seen her before! That felt highly inappropriate and disingenuous. I did not appreciate that request at all - not least because this was done in front of staff we had been in contact with during our stay and who were very kind and friendly. The audacity of her to have asked for this at all, but worse, in front of them, was extremely bad form.

Because their focus is on food they put reserved signs on all of the tables in the bar-we had to move to a tiny table after 6.30 even though we had eaten there and were paying £137 for our room
