The chequers inn is a delightful place to stay, rooms very clean and tidy, enough pillows and towels, walk in shower lovely and hot, bed comfortable. Opposite is a field with a rambling path leading to woods and then a spectacular view for miles of the whole valley. Surprised to see four electric car charging points there,(I would have brought my car and not the wife’s if I’d researched this better) there’s a spa too which we didn’t have time to try. We ate an evening meal here which was great too. The two photos, one is the inn itself and one the church seen from the walk I mentioned above

Bed was uncomfortable. Water went everywhere when you turned the tap on at the sink. Bathroom was a bit tired looking, needed a refurb.

Staff were offhand and lacked customer service training. Reception process was poor and annoying. Accommodation is generally quite run down and old fashioned.

The location was good.

They didn't have a chef so no breakfast or evening meal, thus was not 100% clear when booking or i would not have stayed there. The bathroom sink tap was loose as was the toilet seat. Bed wasn't made on day 3 of 4 and same towels as well for that day.
