A superb hostess, catered for our every desire - the hot chocolate with mini marshmallows in the room was decadent and we loved the earplugs provided in the bathroom as it was a triple room they could have been needed. There was a comfy couch in the room and wine glasses and corkscrew was in the room so we had a few glasses of wine before heading out for a walk to Castlerigg stone circle (to see the northern lights) A full menu for breakfast, with cheeses yoghurts many choices of cereal and milks, filter coffee - even Milo was welcomed and he had a sausage provided at breakfast Trully recommend this property - will stay again

It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The host Judith and her family were very welcoming. We were surprised by the food and household items that were supplied. Everything was there for a comfortable stay.

There is no lift.With heavy suitcases its a very long way up a winding staircase. If your on your own its hard work.

No curtains, only blinds. At this time of year, light gets through those in the early hours. Harsh ceiling lighting. It would be nice to have the option of softer lighting in the evening such as a lamp in the bedroom and living room. Personally I didn’t like the location.

We booked 6mths in advance, said it was family T travelling together and be close to each other. We got completely different building across the road from each other. We also in the write up said the rooms had air conditioning ours didn’t, they blamed Booking.com for incorrect write up of facilities. After a long time and quite a discussion the finally changed our room, was a route march to get to our room upstairs around corners, up more steps. The new part across the road was much nicer.
