The Castle Inn is a lovely old pub, with bags of interior atmosphere, a beer garden, and a tidy crowd of locals. There was even a group of morris dancers (not specially laid on for us, but still). The food was good, with specified local ingredients, which we thoroughly approve of. The breakfast, particularly had the type of butcher's sausage that is all too rare in a B&B cooked breakfast. The shower was excellent, and the bed comfy.

It's very expensive for a pub -£150 for a room - and for that you'd expect that they would remember to give you some towels. The room was large, but there was plenty of sound audible from the kitchen below (more of a problem in the early morning than late at night). The kitchen extractors were just outside too. I don't mind that type of sound, but it was there. So thought they have many things just right, I think the inn was about 25% over-priced.

Very clean room. The bed and pillows were super comfy, probably the most comfortable I’ve had in a hotel/motel ever. Great location and a few nice restaurants nearby. We were able to walk to all the main attractions. We didn’t need to contact staff but the receptionist made it clear that we could get in contact if we had any queries at all after hours. Great value for money

Nothing to dislike!

Breakfast was good. Evening meals were a real highlight, with the best lamb rump and chicken we have tasted (top marks to the chef who cooked everything to perfection). A great inn in a tranquil location with welcoming and friendly staff.

We were a little surprised that the pub was shut after our post-dinner walk. The double bed seemed a little on the small side. These are only a minor criticisms.

very helpful owners, they left us some supplies eg milk, cereal. The location was ideal for the purpose of our visit. Just off from the main street, no problems with parking/leaving our motorbikes. Pauline was fantastic.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom, which was modern and up to date, was spoiled by the black mould at the base of the shower screen.

My breakfast, from the buffet, was stone cold. I ate it as I was in a hurry, but found out later that there had been an electrical fault. Subsequent guests were given freshly cooked breakfasts.

The hotel was great - walking distance to all the sites we wanted to visit. Staff were very helpful and kind. Would highly recommend.
