Positive section of review
This place is a hidden gem about 30 seconds walk from the sea. The whole town had a power cut during our stay. We used the candles to play pool and board games by candlelight. The house is spacious, quirky decorated and there was a lovely welcome package left by the owners. We will 100% be back to stay again. We are nearly finished a family trip around the UK. This house was by far our family favourite place we stayed and it was also the cheapest!

Everything! Staff, food, drink, room were all excellent. Location by the river was lovely, and easy to find. Car parking was easy and the resident's retreat courtyard with seats outside each room was a great feature on a very warm evening. Very dog friendly, too.

Probably not noticeable usually, but the 30 degree heatwave was wafting some drainy smells across one area of the lawn. Didn't spoil our enjoyment, though.

The property was in a good location to shops and the underground and bus routes were easily accessible. The beds were very comfortable and a fan was provided, although impossible to feel cool in the whole room as we went during a heat wave.

Maybe air conditioning would help as I think it would be used even if it wasn’t a heat wave. Perhaps a little more storage would be good as we couldn’t put things away from our suitcases so had to keep getting them out every day to get/put things away. It was only an inconvenience because we also couldn’t store 2 cabin size cases and they took up valuable floor space.

The staff were lovely and very obliging. The weather was very hot and they found us a fan at our request, and they also allowed us to have a cereal breakfast earlier than their advertised time. We also had a very nice meal in the pub

The bed was in an area of the room with no windows and it felt a bit like sleeping in a cupboard. The en suite could have done with updating. The carpets need cleaning or replacing in the communal corridors.

Beautiful old home with lots of character. It is set back from the lochs a bit but there are trails you can walk to some smaller lochs or you can drive to fort Augustus for access to Loch Ness.

The breakfast included in the room rate is just toast, pastries, yogurt and cereal but you can pay an additional fee for a hot breakfast.

Room was right above very loud music in hotel restaurant. Because if the noise, we had to ask for another room and we were put in one of a lower standard than we paid for. Service in restaurant was very poor and loud music in strange taste made it hard to talk. I had to keep getting up to chase the staff. Restaurant prices were high for the quality.
