This was a real home-from-home and had everything you could possibly need, including things like hairdryers, an ironing board, a hoover etc. It's light and airy and nicely-furnished without being too cluttered, with two bathrooms and an outside patio. The location is absolutely superb - right by the river, an easy walk to the city walls and attractions like Clifford's Tower and the Castle Museum - not to mention being opposite a Timothy Taylor's pub with a beer garden! Easy walk to the cafes and shops in Bishy Road and only 15-20 minutes walk to the railway station. You can walk to the Racecourse in under half an hour, so a good choice if you're going to the races.

The only problem we encountered was that the shower in the upstairs bathroom was too hot to use and had very little scope for adjustment. The only other issue I would mention is that the stairs are very steep and narrow, so it might not be the best choice for people with mobility problems - otherwise it's a fantastic place to stay.

The location was perfect and the village pub was lovely to sit and have a drink! The cottage its self had everything in that you could possibly need, a very well equipt kitchen, and a lovely court yard! The couple in the cottage next door were friendly and the off road parking was an added bonus! Very lovely little touches such as a box of chocolates on arrival, and a kitchen pack containing washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, a sponge, etc. We would return.

There were a lot of very big & dusty cobwebs. The mattresses, pillows & bedding could probably do with updating, and a few of the pillows were lumpy. The grout in the bathroom around the shower was clean but very stained, maybe just needs a freshen up! In one of the cupboards, there was some opened food which was maybe left from a previous guest.

Stunning little house, tucked away privately at the back of the owners garden. Top class facilities, close to lots of amenities in the area. Friendly hosts.

Very friendly and helpful host, breakfast arrived promptly which was great as we had a train to catch.

Bit of a walk from the station with heavy luggage which would be the only thing that might stop us staying another time - but we were aware of this before booking.
