Breakfast and food was good in the restaurant. Friendly service and bed was comfortable. Slightly larger gym than many hotels I have seen. and within easy reach of the airport and Birmingham International.

Décor is a little dated and some areas of the hotel look tired, particular the changing rooms for the swimming pool and sauna facilities. Seemed a little pricey for what it was.

Perfect location, close to city centre and the attractions. Apartment was very clean, kitchen very well equipped. Loads of bed linen and towels. The sofa bed was very comfy to sleep on.

Wish there was a curtain or blinds on the door to the balcony. As it is gets bright quite early, the room is filled with light and becomes difficult for the person sleeping on the sofa bed.

Staff were great and I was given a room upgrade without any fuss The room was very spacious and there was no noise at all. Excellent breakfast and food at the bar came. Dry quickly.

Rural location with awesome staff and good food. Car parking and dog friendly. Good coffee in the room and bed comfy.

Bathroom had lots of mould and really needed a refit although everything worked. We had room 2 above the bar area, we could smell the cooking from kitchen and experienced loud noisy people in the bar until after 00:30 when the bar shut and we where told last orders had been served at 23:00. Very disappointed and really spoilt our stay.

Where do I start.. 1. The Bedbugs 2. The Customer Service First night in the hotel was fine. Second night I arrive and almost immediately see something crawling above the bed frame (see image). Yes that’s right Bedbugs. I discreetly make my way to reception (which was busy with guests) and raise the issue. The duty manager, visits and sees the squatted bed bug. He says don’t worry, there is a protocol, and I will be moved to another room. So far decent customer service to the situation. That’s where it goes down hill and quickly. I am handed a new room key in 15 mins, but then suddenly it’s taken back, and I’m informed that there are no rooms. Very odd.. I’m told I’m “not a member”. Very odd for a current paid guest.. I have to find my own accommodation pretty last minute/mid stay late at night, in the city. Not easy and certainly not going to be cheap. I find the cheapest decent place at over twice the price for only two nights!!! Fast forward to Thursday, the Manager calls, asks me to take the review down for a “complimentary night”. I choke when I hear that, actually it’s hotel policy to kick out guests if they find bed bugs, as they don’t want them spreading to other rooms.. Absolutely shocking. I ask that I am reimbursed for the cleaning costs and the excess I had to pay for new last minute accommodation. “I’m not sure we can do that” and radio silence since then. I am considering my legal options given I was already a paid up guest and they effectively kicked me out due to their poor hygiene and cleaning standards. I have also raised it with Booking.com who appear more helpful given I booked through the platform. As of yet, still out of pocket. Oh and the kicker, my colleague from a sister company stayed at the same hotel, and on the Wednesday told me he woke up with a bite mark.. I wonder what that could be!

Parking was atrocious as you can't reserve and despite paying for 3 nights parking, if the car park is full then you miss out and have to find somewhere else to park. TV reception was poor. TV cuts out a lot. Very disappointing service and facility for a hotel claiming to be 5 stars.
