Friendly welcome from the owners and a willingness to resolve any queries quickly. The heating was already on before my arrival - very welcome on a cold May day. It was also good to have the necessary supplies for a drink and breakfast on arrival without any rush to the nearest supermarket (especially as it was raining!) I was also given a bag of bird food to feed the many wild birds on the magnificent lake only 200 yards away from their home. A good way to make some avian friends.

It was our 20th wedding anniversary, and they made our stay exceptional with a lovely card and chocolates and a surprise hot tub!! The staff were brilliant and the food was gorgeous. The whole setting was amazing and beautiful. We will definitely be coming back and absolutely recommend the food, stay and the wonderful 'vista' panoramic view.

There was nothing, however, as previously warned there were work going on on site but this had no impact on our stay, apart from the morning but we had curtains and the workmen kept themselves to the work in hand. This was only a temporary disruption but to the very minimum. Our stay in whole was wonderful.

Very clean and modern. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shower was amazing. Nice toiletries and towels. Collins was very helpful when I couldn't get the tv to work. I liked having a fridge in the room for fresh milk and my yogurt breakfast.

The room was absolutely stiflingly hot. Too hot to sleep. The bed was too high,and difficult to get onto. I'm 5ft 6in and I really could have done with a step ladder. The mattress wasn't that comfortable. No decaff tea or coffee. Apparently that's on request,but wastes time if you have to request it and wait. The kettle was very,very slow to boil.

John and Anne were excellent hosts. They kept the rooms clean and tidy. They were so friendly and helpful. The garden and lounges were lovely. My room was very comfortable.

Being really over critical but the bath towels were not big enough fir the larger frame! But that’s pretty much the same at every hotel/rental !
