Great find and couldn't fault it. Travelled for a conference and all the hotels in city centre were full or extortionate so stayed here and wasn't disappointed. Its only 10 minutes in a taxi or bus into city centre. the property has been beautifully restored - nice room and good breakfast. Good value and Karl was really helpful host. Would definitely recommend.

I put in a complsint due to my ckothrs smelli g of damp which camw from ths room. Whilst my company was o ly charged for 1 night dosent resolove my complaint which hzd not been dealt with.

Location was lovely, hot tub great and was able to keep it warm and use in the morning.

The hot tub ended up being filled with about 13 daddy long legs whilst in use, huge spiders crawling around, you could see them walking across the patio and had three indoors, luckily only one huge one the others were small, very remote natural location so I imagine they were just attracted to the heat and lights. However I hate them and was on my own with my dog haha So couldn’t sleep well over night. Woke in the night with things scratching outside and ontop of the roof which were likely just foxes or birds but freaked me out being alone. Wouldn’t put me off going again with my partner to help with the spiders though.

The location is very central. Staff friendly. Rate is relatively fair for what you get.

Taking extra credit card details on arrival. There is no option to charge anything to this so why it's needed when the room is already paid for is a mystery. I was told that it was for an ID check but they wouldn't accept actual ID and it didn't have to be the card already on file. It made me feel uneasy, and I spoke to other guests who also found it odd. I stay at hotels all over the country regularly and have never needed to do this unless setting up room charges for food etc. I imagine its for damage and given that there is a bouncer on the door in the evening they may well get a bit of trouble at weekends. It is city centre after all. They need to make the reason for this more clear.

Parking, only one space on the road outside the B+B Most of the time I had to park 600 yards up the road Also the road is a steep hill, you would have to be fit to climb it from the town centre
