Great location, not far from Euston Station. Beds were very comfortable and room was nice and clean. The staff let us leave our bags there on the second day so we could go off exploring without them. Key pad access to hotel after hours so nice and safe. Tea and coffee was provided in the room. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Toilet in the shared bathroom took a few flushes sometimes due to poor water pressure! No big deal though.

I've stayed at Anchor guest house for many many occasions for work purposes when I travel to London, highly recommended place, clean and tidy. Hot water working very well. Cant expect more for the price I paid.

The location of the hostel, on the other hand, was good (not too far from the city center as well as the metro and bus stations).

I stayed at the hostel for 4 days and on 3 days, the wifi didn't work (tested it with both phones I had with me and none of them was able to access the wifi). So yes, I was literally remote in one of the biggest cities in the world while staying at the hostel. Besides that, I had to take a cold shower twice as I woke up 'late' (09:00 am) and there was no warm water after most of the other hostel guests had taken a shower. Don't think this should be a standard. The hygiene was rather below average and my mattress was completely worn out, so that my hips hurt in the morning after getting up. Not the best way to start your day. I also couldn't understand why earplugs were only sold in a double pack for 1.5 pounds. As I had lost one while sleeping, I only needed one new one and the employee told me that he couldn't do that because he would then have an 'uneven number' of earplugs... From a mathematical point of view, this guy was right. But it would not have caused any problem whatsoever because he can easily buy new ones and earplugs cost almost nothing when bought in bulk... The reason for the earplugs was obvious: The guy below me made incredibly loud noises at night (not the hostel's fault), but the way they dealt with my request to change my bed was not good. They said they were overbooked and for that reason, it wasn't possible to change my bed. Why not? Just assign me another bed in the hostel - that's it. Didn't see a problem here. In terms of price-performance ratio, the hostel was okay, but even in an expensive city like London you can definitely get more for your money. Overall, I don't recommend this hostel unless you have a very tight budget and literally no other option, e. g. when booking late (which was kind of the case for me as I booked 'only' 3 months in advance).

Food was not bad, but the dining space was limited. Narrow doors and corridors made it difficult to go through with luggage. Really uncomfortable beds and tiny bathroom.
