Perfectly located on the beautiful, historic Mermaid Street, Jeakes House is a picturesque gem of a hotel with an intimate atmosphere. The public spaces, which includes a small bar and a truly lovely breakfast room, are maintained to the highest standards. All staff are friendly and welcoming and provide a very high standard of service at all times. It was also fascinating and interesting to talk with the delightful owner as she greeted guests ar breakfast. Our room was simply lovely with a four-poster bed and roll-top bath and a wonderful view over Mermaid Street.

There was nothing we did not like. We highly recommend Jeakes House for that special stay in Rye.

The staff were very helpful and attentive. My wife uses a wheelchair and we were made very welcome, and the staff went out of their way to make adaptions to help us. The hotel is beautiful and full of character we really enjoyed our stay.

Minor observations are: Double bed is against a wall on one side. TV operating instructions need tweaking to make it clearer about set top box set up and input to TV.
